I'm not too sure myself, but the latest ones are definately wrong. There has been lots of Gundam titles. Theres also Z Gundam which is one of the earlier Gundam series. Char's counterattack (or something) slots in somewhere. I'll give you the list of the latest ones which i think are right.

    08th MS Team
    Gundam Wing
    Gundam X
Gundam SEED (<--- brilliant, released about 7 months ago)

    Okay

Now here is another questions does the order to them matter like does each series lead up to the enxt or are they completely different?

What i am getting at is like in Dragon Ball there are 3 series that i know of Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball GT. Each of those series leads up to the next, are the gundam series that same?

I think that it might matter, but has that ever stoped them from not running them in order?

I don't know if some people would realize it or not, but a lot of the one's yer mentioning are repeats basically, cause there just stripped down movie versions of the series's.
For instance Mobile Suit Gundam 1, 2 and 3 are just movie version's of Mobile Suit Gundam.
Also, to get the full story, you'd have to read all the comic's(or manga's, whatever ya wanna call 'em).
Best bet to find out about 'em all is to visit MAHQ, there's loads of info there series and mecha wise.
