Video Games Halo 2

The greatest game of all time? Not only with new interactive levels, selectable characters in Battle Mode, new guns and vehicles, but also proclaimed to be the best of all time. The original Halo which was released in 2001 was an immense hit not only for its gameplay, but for the amazing story it told.....Now, three years later, the sequel to what may be the ultimate game is going to be released in less than two weeks! I wanted to make this thread to see what people think of what may be the best. I for one think that it probably will be the first game to get 10.0 in the history of gamespot.com.....but attention is tried to be taken away with Half Life 2 and GTA: San Andreas. Nevertheless...on its releasing day, the stores will be filled with people who will wait to get their game at 12 am of the ninth......what do you think of this fan-filled game!?

 

I thought there might have already been a Halo 2 thread somewhere, but oh well, isn't worth that effort. ;P Well, I still stand by what I always used to say, that there's no game on X-Box that could ever convince me to own one... Halo certainly didn't do it for me, and the same game with a number attached won't change my mind (much akin to the GTA games).

 

Halo has amazing hype behind it. I think part of the reason people love it so is that it is one of the first times console gamers have been able to experience a well made FPS with story etc. Note that Halo on the PC did not do as well.. we are used to such things On the PC side, Half Life 2 is awaited far more eagerly than Halo 2. PC Gamer recently gave it its highest rating ever and called it "the most important game you will ever play."

Since it isn't coming out for Xbox (at least not yet), you get to look forward to Halo 2 instead. Just be aware there is a gaming scene beyond the consoles

 

I prefer HL2 over Halo 2 really. I was awfully dissappointed with Halo for some reason, and I guess it was too hyped, which probably raised my expectations. And you know what happens if you have high expectations, the game usually don't "live up" to your standards...so basically, Meh.

But we will see what Halo 2 can do.

The numbers are out!

OK! The official score is up for Halo 2 and it has recieved a 9.7 out of 10. Main reason for these .3 points is the dissapointing ending . The rest of the game (uncluding story mode) is a masterpiece. Perfect in every way. Although I have not played the game myself, I am pretty sure it will be a legend to tell. And I quote
"...it will be a game to be told more than future generations, not only the story, but the design and gameplay is what will make this game a legend"

Truly one of the best. I've yet to see how it will compare to Metal Gear Solid 3, or Half Life 2. Time will tell......

 

Wow! 9.7!? I know that you are aware of the ending of Halo 2, Kaiyon-san. Can you tell us whats going to happen!? Or do you just not know!? C'mon! I spoke to your brother! Please tell! I dont have an Xbox, but I've played most of the game! (...and yes. KaiyonTormentor does have a brother who has joined this website! He's not known by that much people)

I played Halo 2 today, and it didn't really do much for me.. it's a lot like the first one. Almost identical in multiplayer.
I didn't play Campaign Mode though, just LANned with a LOT of people. It was still hella fun, and I'm still intrigued by the graphics, but the gameplay seemed a bit lackluster compared to the first one. The weapons aren't as balanced or thought out... this is just based off of 3 hours of play, so don't hold me to it.

What do you guys think? Played it? Like it? Hate it?

Well HALO 2 does deserve to get 9.7!!! i played halo2 but the multiplayer isn't that good but i liked it and when the first time you play it you will say: hmm, i thought it was better ... but IT ISN"T, they add too much good and awesome things that let halo 2 become little boring.. but the DUAL thing that you can hold 2 weapons is great AND jumping at anther banshee and steel it that is something cool and great, i didn't play the story yet so i can't judge at it. i just played it 12 MULTIPLAYER BY X-BOX!!! it was cool but when the screen split you can't play well because it's small. if you play halo2 for long time you will like too much because some peoples play don't like guns and FPS games you know!, but it's good game.

Ohhh, goodness. Everyone is right, the endig does suck....badly! I wont say it, but to those who have seen it.....doesent that suck. Well, three more years, i guess. sigh. Appart from that fact, the rest of the game is greatness put into an xbox cd. It really does only deserve a 9.7. sigh....very dissapointing.....*sigh*

 

I only like halo 2 because of online multiplayer. It is one of the best online games I have ever played. Basically because it is so competitive. The campaign sucks in my opinion.

 

Halo 2 online is impressive, but I do feel that the single campaign is more of a "seen it, done it" before feeling. I don't know, it's just me.
