Video Games Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life and More Friends of Mineral Town

Damn you harvest Moon...you've done it again and sucked me in! >.<

Hmm yes, for those that don't know Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life (Gamecube) and Harvest moon: More friends of Mineral town (gameboy) are basically sequels to the previous two, A wonderful Life and Friends of Mineral town. Basically same plot, same setting and same characters (from what i understand at least...) only this time...you're playing as a chick.

Just wanted some thoughts. i don't have AWL (it's my brother that owns the game cube, not me) nor did I play the first two (AWL and FOMT) but I do have MFOMT and damn, like in those horrible McDonalds' commercials, I'm lovin' it! Right now I'm obsessed with buying a whole kitchen set (I have a lot of stuff, like the utensils and such...just waiting for the Shopping Channel to offer an oven, knife and Seasoning Kit) so I make Cliff lots of food so he'll like me!

My only complaint is the guys you get to choose from in town. Most of them there's nothing really special about them, and they're not that good looking. Cliff's the only good looking one...and i suppose Doctor is a bit too, in that older man type of way...but still. In comparision to the five beautiful ladies the boys got in FOMT, it feels like a rip off. >_>

 

I havent played them yet, But i know I've spent about 30 dollars renting Back to Nature and HM64. Very fun series.

Actually Friends of Mineral town and more Friends of Mineral Town seem to me kinda like a 'return' if you will to Harvest moon 64. Why? Because the same characters are in it.
I only played HM64 for like 15 minutes (afterwards my once-friend kicked me off. but that's why I'm not friends wih her anymore, just so you know -_- Not that lame) but I remember alot from stuff I read about it on the characters.
And the instant I saw Popuri's face in the game I went "ZOMG THAT'S POPURI!!!!" only this time she's not the child of the people who run the flower shop (that's what it was before right? XP) She's the child of the couple that runs the Poultry farm where you buy chicken. XD

So maybe it'd be a nice 'nostglic' thing for the fans of HM64. XD

 

I rather like the Havest moon series its very addicting and not a waste of money.

Gahh...the hours i spent on HM64 heh i loved it really just so fun and cool in my persepctive. Gots the easy going feel to it and well...just fun.

I think this latest one is a lil different..i mean i don't really see the story its just saving the town and thats pretty much it...gahh..I hope theres another Havest moon game..i just love the series lol

 

Which are you talking about? AWL? Because I haven't been told yet that i have to save the town in MFOMT. All I gotta do is farm and get myself a damn husband! ><

 

lol. I think that it is part of MFOMT..but i may be wrong i may be thinking of a different one but im pretty sure it is this. gah...hmm...ill check it out this week to see if it is cause my memory is a lil fuzzy on it i may be thinking of the PS2 HM game. :sweat2:

 

yeah i think you're thinking about the PS2 one too. I'm in spring of my second year at Mineral Town and haven't been told i have to save the town yet. Oo In fact, the town looks very prosperous...

 

Haha, that's how I feel everytime I buy another HM game myself.

Yah, I didn't buy MFOMT since you only got to be a girl. This may sound strange coming from a girl, but I like playing as a guy. Plus, as you said, none of the guys are that special. They're a far cry from the girls who were a lot better looking. It's fun to have a dating sim game, I guess, but could they at least give us some more interesting characters? X_X

heh. I'll probably end up buying it after all though. Curse you, HM

 

Yeah...it's times like that that i wish HM would let you be a homosexual/bisexual. XD lol

Well, Cliff's adorable, i mean, really, really adorable. I adore him. *heart* Doctor is good looking in that weird kind of way...old man way...but the others...Rick is ugly and geeky (I don't know how he snags Karen who is what I consider THE SEXEH CHICK) there's really nothing special about Gary and Kai...kai's gone for 3 quarters of the year. O.x
But still...Cliff~~~~~~

A little off topic: Dating sim games are very fun. X3 I only want a DS so i can play Sprung! When it comes out. You cna like totally be bisexual which is like, twice as fun. X3

Back on Topic: Harvest moon is evilly fun. O.O Who knew farming would be so addicting?

There's actually a More Friends Of Mineral Town already? *gasp* Noooo. I must get it. Harvest Moon is one of the games which I could actually play for months and not be bored of. Anyhow, about the guys, if I could see the character I take the role of, like I see the others, he would be my favorite. Cliff is cute, but I seem to love the girls more when it comes to favorites. I can't decide between Ellie, Karen, Mary and Popuri, so I wooed them all, but in the end I married Popuri. Why, she's so very lovely in her wedding gown. *sigh*

When I'd like to get away from battle games like the Final Fantasy ones and most other games out there, Harvest Moon seems to be my only refuge. One of the reasons why I am fond of it.

 

I never played MFOMT or FOMT, can never find em. But I have "A Wonder Life" and just rented "Another Wonderful Life" The basic concept is the same. The new one has alot of new features which was pretty fun and the chance to control a chick. They have another harvest moon out in japan called "Harvest Moon: Poem of Happiness." which was released in Japan 3/3/05 which makes me wonder if they will release it here.
