it's also part of a reference the game makes to the quote "we will be as gods." referring to man making themselves as great as gods.
it also fits the story quiet nicely

That's strange, I thought "Macht" is a form of the verb "do"....
of course that word is in noun form, if I remember from my German lessons correctly.

"Do" and "Make" are often the same word in some languages, like spanish. It may be the same with German, but I'm not wholly sure.

Just to set the record straight, the name of the game is Der Wille zur Macht, literally "the will to power", though I would translate it as "the desire for power" (never was one for word-for-word translations, rather have the meaning).

Zur Wille der Macht, as it appears in the title of this thread would be something like "to the will of power" which would be a bit of a head scratcher.

Cunning Servant: macht and Macht are two different words. Macht is as you say a noun (you can tell because it is capitalized), and it means power or strength. macht on the other hand is the 2nd person singular conjugation of the verb machen (ie er macht - he does) which means to make or to do.

If you wanted to make machen the verb into a noun (the making) it would be das Machen

heh, I really want to play that game, will have to buy it when I get myself a ps2.

As for the german bit, I took 3 years of it, but barely remember a word. I'd trust Otaru on his info though, it sounds correct.
