Anime Have you seen 'Blue Gender'

I have seen the second volume for this series and i have to admit that its great. The animation is not tha great but the story is. The characters has fascinating personalities that distinguish their way of valuing life. Its has a rich synopsis <tje idea of having a second earth is very interesting> I recommened to those that love action and depressing shows.
<Its like Neon Genesis Evangelion and Gasaraki>

 

Soon hopefully. The UK Sci-Fi channel had announced plans to broadcast it this May but postponed it to June for unknown reasons. Not long to wait...

 

*shudders* i've seen it... i wish i had had Iodine with me when the prez of the Anime club showed it... that was the second worse anime i've ever seen... the main guy is... REALLY ugly.. far from Bish material.. and he's a chicken-wuss. what kind of "hero" gets scared and wets his pants in the first twenty minutes of a movie? I reccomend it to ppl i dislike who don't know anything about anime. but i wouldn't subject my friends to that kind of pain...unless i was mad at them for some reason.. >.>;;;

ah well. my (and my entire anime club's >.>;; no of. to anyone who likes it but we all HATED it.) personal opinion.. if you have the money and will to waste on it go riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight ahead.

 

As I said, I've only seen the second volume and in a way I liked the series. For one things looks comes last in my list, I wouldn't let an ugly character stops me from appreciating good anime. The storyline is one of a kind and I would like to see the outcome of the story. That what attracts me to it! Everyone has his own opinion and I'd say 'People, go and see it'

 

^^;; i don't let an ugly character get in the way of me ejoying anime either.. but i saw someone call him a Bish a while back and was like "umm...no?"

and "Blue Gender" actually rips off general plotlines from the movie "Starship Troopers" izza fact. i read it somewhere.

i don't like the characters.. i think that they are either too cold for their own good, too wimpy (but suddenly are pros at using big cranes *rolls eyes*) or are REALLY touchy-feely and that in itself is creepy (men should NOT male-bond over sitting in a room and singing whilst bobbing their heads like pidgeons...it just shouldn't be done..)

if the characters had been a bit more believable to me i probably would've enjoyed it more... i'm probably gonna end up watching the second DVD... cuz i've heard word that Darien wants to force us to sit thru it again.. this time *WITHOUT* the add-libbing... *sigh* no MST3K for us.. T_T

but personally.. from what i saw of the first series it's digging itself into a hole... there are afew holes in the plot.. and while that's good in Videogames(sometimes) and books it's not so great in Anime.. it leaves you going "What?" or "nani?" depends on how Otaku you are.

i dunno... maybe it gets better as it goes along... *shrugs* all i know is they need to spend less time trying to "Americanize" the characters... the only guy with a Japanese name was the main charrie @_@ what was the blonde girl's name? Mitzy? Missy? i dun remember.. i just remember dropping into cardic arest when they said her name... cuz she looks more like a "Rambo" to me >.>;;; she's more masculine than half the guys in that series....

Spoiler: This was my Blue Gender experience:

Beginning: Hated it! Everyone kept dying and the stupid Marlene and Yuji became the last ones alive so freaking fast. Come on! Its soo cliche!!! And Yuji was such a wuss!

Middle: Okay, its getting more interesting now that Yuji can fight and the whole blue cell plot thing. I kinda hated that Marlene changed soo much, but i really did love that scene where Yuji gets stabbed in the chest for her. The action got alot better with Tony in the picture and stuff, especially when he takes over the space colony. Actually I kinda liked Blue Gender from that point on...until...

The End: I HATED IT!!!!!!!! IT WAS THE MOST STUPIDIEST PIECE CRAP I HAVE SEEN!!! The funny thing is, I liked it alot to the very bitter end. But when it happened, the last episode, and I saw it, I thought it was soooooooooo stupid!! The show had no point!! Everyon dies, the Earth did what it said to do, I still see no purpose in Yuji at alll!!So Tony was right all along? Then his death was meanigless too? So you're telling me the whole point of the show was to see the earth kill off hundred of thousands humans??? HUH??? HUH?? IS IT?? I HATED THAT STUPID SHOW!!!! It had no point!@!!!! The semi main characters, besides Yuji and Marlene (who really got on my nerves with the whole I love Yuji crap) had no point but to be there and be brutally killed by the Blue while the rest of the human race lived!! Wow, what a meaningful plot! I hated this show soo much.....If I wanted to see an anime about the Earth trying to heal itself, then I would see Blue Seed, it has a much better plot that makes freaking sense.

 

I saw it many awhile back on Sci-fi channel... well seeing they stuck it on BEFORE Neon Genesis Evangelion, it was ok'ish but as many said the plot was predictable.... particulary on the whole thesis of

If you have sex with the main characters... you aint gonna make into the next episode ^_^ i thought the ending to the episode with the lil girl & puppy was funny... i know im alone in that opinion though -_-

but yeah, watchable yet not great.

 

Hmmm..., I've watched it several times, but, like you said, it's "watchable," but not...great. You can get caught up with the story line a little...Overall, however, it a decent, nothin' too special anime.

 

i liked it. kind of a cross between gundam and starship troopers. but yeah the main charecter is a total pansy

 

I watched Blue Gender when it came out on Adult Swim. I'd like to say although the main character was scared s***less in the beginning and peed his pants what would you do if you just woke up to some giant bug killing people? hmmm?!
Anyway, I enjoyed Blue Gender. It was a good anime and I'm buying the entire show.

 

I watched this program when it was shown on the Sci-Fi channel.
I think that the wort problem with the story was that it dragged on and on. It should have been finished on episode 13. For over half the length of the program the whole thing was just like pulling teeth.
The anitmaion was good but thats all. I thought that all the killing and screaming was a bit disturbing.

the show is boring! but am sure it will get better.well lets not say boring but I dont get.
