Heart of the cards. (A Yu Gi Oh theme)

I know asked this in another thread.

What is the heart of the cards to you? Do you use it?

Does it cross over to Magic: The Gathering as well? ;) If so, I'd use it if I needed it. My deck works so well, though, the only thing I have to worry about is kill-all spells. :p

    I guess I'm like Kaiba then. :p

I dont like calling it "Heart of the Cards" because it all depends how lucky I am that I shuffled the deck and the card I needed was there.
If I were to close my eyes, and draw my card so dramatically slow while thinking the words "Heart of the cards....guide me", then I'd win every duel.
Although i do the dramatically slow drawing, I dont like to close my eyes and pray for a winning card.
Tried it a long time ago...I'd rather play with luck than something someone made up.
They're both the same at my view, I just call it luck.

I honestly don't think it was over done. I think the heart of cards is believing in something you should feel close too. Like any deck you play with. You made it. You trained with it. You developed it. A connection was made. Believing in yourself and it. More then luck.

If i could remember what i put in the other thread i would just quote it but i dont feel like looking. Yes, I believe in the heart of the cards, and it helps when using a yugi deck. my deck is the closest your gonne get to the real thing. but anyways i use it all the time and back when i use to face my friend there was one card that would always help me, Card Destruction, dude always just about ran out of the cards and when i drew that i knewi had one.

yeah, i believe in the heart of the cards. ^^ even thought it usually doesn't work.... so that means that i just have to believe HARDER!!! :D lol. whenever me and my friends play egyptian rat-screw, and there's a jack or something, i always yell at them: "BELIEVE IN THE HEART OF THE CARDS!!!!" lol. they usually look at me like i'm crazy, but... hn. i always have a serious face on when saying that...

the heart of the cards, to me, is to just believe in yourself. even if your on your last thread, don't give up hope, because fate may have different plans for you. (as in a good way.)

I do not believe in the heart of the cards.

The Heart of the duel on the other hand is another thing.

Putting your whole heart and soul into your dueling ability and the deck you made. It's more of believing so much in your ability that no matter what card you draw you still try your hardest and use that card to your advantage and come out on top.

it's also about not caring about winning or losing. it's all about the duels. You lose some, you win some. Dueling is dueling either way.

When they rest their hands on the deck? I think that is done for suspence. Eh, Everyone has their opinions.

Heart of the duel ah? Going further. Figures you would go over the top FR. :D Obivously they are connected.

When I used Heart of the Cards it worked out for me. But I used it wrong. I should have waited then I would have won. You need to know when to use your cards even if you believe in Heart of the Cards.

I agree dueling shouldn't be about winning or losing it should be about having fun and enjoying yourself.

Of course! I only played Yu-Gi-Oh for a week before I got sick of it, but Magic, I lost every game I played for over 8 years, but I still stuck with it, and I enjoy every game I play. I always have.

The heart of the cards was just an invention made by the anime writers to say that good will always defeat over evil. i.e. good guys believed in the heart of the cards, bad guys didn't.

But sincerely, in the end we just have randomness. No heart of the cards. Oh well.

Actually if I'm not mistaken...Heart of the Cards was actually called heart of Duel in the show. Or it seemed that way. That's what the subtitles said in my YGO uncut DVDS (the two I have). Don't know if that was a typo or mis-translation (but it couldn't have been with how many times it showed up) or what but I found I liked the idea of the 'Heart of the Duel' over the 'Heart of the Cards'
I'll have to watch my DVDs, see how many times it actually comes up and which episodes....

    You are absolutely right. <3
