Recreation Help me be a better Santa!

Well, this holiday season (from what I hear, on the 24th no less), I'm going to be playing Santa for an underprivileged family.

Now, while I have the basics of being Santa down-pat, I wouldn't mind a little help from the younger demograph (or some of the older ones whose minds haven't been warped in some way ) on what qualities/traits they like to see in Santa.

So-ho-ho, get to it!

 

I think you should HO HO HO alot, thats very important. Also, dont curse when the kid kicks you in the mini sack.

 

Big, Fat & Jolly... tis what the general thing kids expect "Santa" to be & what i was told until my uncle said he shot him :dizzy2:

Be warned though... they'll tug at your beard & insist on sitting on your lap :/

 

Awwww, how sweet! I wanted to be a santa... but I could hide behind twigs in hide-n-go-seek, and I'm a girl. ^^
So instead, I've opted to sit on Santa's lap this christmas. Yep- all 6 feet o' me! See what he has to say! ^o^

Ask the liddle kiddos about what they really want, and since they are underprivleged families... show them how much they already have. Everyone has blessings to count! ^_^

of all the ppl i can invisage as santa, neph, you're one of the last. ^_^.
They're probably gonna be rotton little ***** if they're underprivileged, but you may strike it lucky.
may i suggest going to the local mall and taking notes on a professional santa?. sure you may get some strange looks.....
or you could create a list of "worst case senarios", then get a hord of little kiddies to try them out on the santa at the mall and take note of how the 'pro' deals with them.
make sure you're breath doesn't smell like beer, they could have unpleasant associations with such a smell.
don't wear sneakers
make sure you memorise the names of all your reindeer....that could be sticky.

how long do you have to keep up the act?

Awww big Huggles for Neph! I think u'll doing a great thing and i suggest watching Tim Allen's The Santa Clause it should be a great example and i still love a santa that acts all jolly and acts in a way that just makes u feel safe and happy.

Well, I just got back from doing it.

I really have no idea how the mom stays sane. There's seven of the kids, and just her to care for them.

The 2 oldest kids, I could see in their eyes, knew I wasn't really Santa, but the other 5 just flipped! And they were all so polite too, offering me gum and such...

Guys, I gotta say this. The next time you're bummed out over not getting a PS2 or whatever for Christmas, keep in mind that there are kids who go crazy over a sweatshirt.

Y'know, the really hard part of it wasn't seeing their living conditions, or the clothes they wore, or anything like that.

The hardest part was when they kept hugging me and saying how much they love Santa.
