Races of Arian

Here’s some information on each race’s characteristics and a bit of history. Please make your characters accordingly.

Pyrians: Pryrians are usually the tallest of the five races and the strongest (physically). They have tanned to dark brown skin; red, brown or auburn hair (may or may not have red or yellow highlights); and red, yellow, or amber eyes or sometimes even a mixture of colors (Example: red with yellow specks or streaks). Their wings are like phoenixes. They burst flaming from their backs whenever they summon them, and turn into ash whenever the Pyrian is done with them or when they are low on enegy and can no longer sustain them. The wings have bright red plumage with golden streaks and when the Pyrian is about to take flight, the wings flame up and stay that way until the Pyrian lands. They can create and manipulate fire, though it drains them if they use their powers constantly. They can also enhance their weapons by flaming them up. Pyrians specialize in battle and prefer the Warrior class; but also created the Firedancer class. Cold water is like acid to them (they only drink hot stuff) and of left in a cold place for too long can kill them. Their clothes consisted of leathers and hides; also they find anything red to be attractive (red bandana, necklace, rings, scarf, etc).

Before the “Merge of Planets” occurred, the Pyrians were a tribal and violent race. They loved to fight; they would fight over anything and everything: love, women, currency, power, respect, food, you name it they’ll fight (sometimes to the death) for it. But when the Elians created the gateways and came into the Pryian’s world, they brought with them some of their culture. The Pyrians then developed their own kind of honor code. They value honor and respect more then anything including fighting. Fighting without honor is like pointless to them. That’s why they would never attack those who are weaker than them, its not honorable. It's also the reason they get along well with the Erthians (by leaving them alone and watching them from afar). They could easily wipe them all out, but instead the Pyrians think of them as a delicate and precious race. It's forbidden in their society to hurt an Erthian or any other person that's weaker than them;the punishment is exile from the Pyras Territory. Pyrians also picked up mining from the Elians. The Pyras mountains contained FireStones (very valuble and beautiful stones) and other jewels, which they traded with the other races and became their main source of currency and the only positive interaction they ever had with all of the other races. Their Royal Palace is dubbed: The Palace of Endless Flames.

 

Races- Aquians

Aquians: Aquians are the shortest and the frailest of all the races. They have either light blue or gray skin; white, gray, or different shades of blue hair; and their eyes are usually blue or gray. Their wings are covered in silver scales, which remain flat on their backs when they’re not in use. They can also use these like fins and shot through water like a bullet. They can breathe in water, control the water, and talk to fish and other sea animals. Aquians have other abilities depending on their class. The Aquians prefer to be Healers or Sirens (their own personal class). But after their race was almost completely annihilated by the Alettais, more and more have been choosing the path of the Warrior. They cannot live long in places where it's dry and scorching (like the Great Deserts of Pyras). They would wear tight clothing with cloth shawls or cloaks draped over them; usually the females dancers would wear very revealing and captivating costumes. And if you haven't guessed it, they usually make their money by perfoming and you usually can find them dancing and singing in the palaces and other places (like bards).

The Aquians were once a peaceful race that kept to themselves mostly; they were known for their beauty, elegant dances, and mesmerizing voices. When the Delanis Alettais attacked them, they were completely scattered. All their main cities were destroyed, and now only a few hundred exist. Their once peaceful land of Aquas is now overrun by evil monsters and is almost uninhabitable. Some Aquians chose to stay anyways and founded several small communities along their coasts. But most chose to stay in the Elinas Territory and tried to keep their knowledge and history alive by creating schools that teach their own unique classes and their way of life to the next generation of Aquians, and by writing books of their history for the Elian’s great libraries. The Aquians are mostly peaceful, but they are those who feel resentment for what had happened to their lands and are bitter. It is said that they have a palace beneath the waves of their capital, dubbed the Lost Palace of the Tranquil Waters, but it is said its only a legend.

 

Races-Erthians

Erthians: Erthians are very agile and cunning. They have either light green or brown skin and, depending on their class, can turn their skin into the texture and color of their background. They have brown or green hair where exotic flowers and/or vines are known to grow (the types of flowers depend on the Erthian’s personality, they can be poisonous, pretty, intoxicating, carnivorous, etc). Their eyes are usually brown, green, yellow , or amber color. Their pupils dilate just like a cat in the dark, or when they’re agitated. No matter what class, Erthians can control nature (make vines move, make the ground shake, etc), have great sense of direction and great senses in general (hearing, seeing, etc). Their ears are very long and pointy and are usually adorned with many earrings (including the guys). Their wings are quite unique than any of the other’s. When they summon them, large twigs and vines sprout from their backs and twist into wings. Depending on their level of power and age, they can either be small, average, or of immense size, though it takes time for the wings to form. When the wings have not been in use for some time, the twigs and vines automatically uproot from their owner’s back. The process is known to be painful (the amount of pain depends on the size of the wings). Their preferred class is the Hunter or their own special class, the Beastmaster, which allows them to communicate and control certain animals. Fire is their worst enemy. If an Erthian gets burned, it’s considered very serious no matter how slight the burn is since their skin burns like a dry leaf would; it spreads. Water is their life source, so they get along pretty well with the Aquians. Their clothing is usually light to improve mobility and usually made from hides or cloths, though there are some who are known to wear light chain mail. They love natural precious stones (onyx, amber, jade, etc) and even would risk going to the Pyras Territory to trade with them (but usually wait until the Pyras's rainy season). The Erthian's make their money by hunting and selling the hides, bones, and meats (though they're not poachers, and wont kill every animal in sight just so they make a huge profit).

They lived either up or in trees, or in small villages deep in their forests and jungles. Erthians, though strong warriors, were very peaceful and hated violence more than anything. They had a very strong respect for nature in any form and would die trying to protect it. But the Erthians had a weakness, they were very naïve and curious. So, though they were capable of defending themselves , the Alettais defeated them easily by posing to be an ally. When the Erthians’ guard were down, the Alettais burned a large portion of their forest to the ground with their black fire. This fire prevented the trees and plants from ever growing back again. And so like the Aquians, they were scattered and nearly wiped out. The few that survived either moved to the Elinas Territory or to part of their Territory that wasn’t scorched. They created small cities, and even a palace, though its not as big or important as the palaces of the main three races. But like the Aquians, living in their own land was still dangerous; dark creatures left by the Alettais still roam there and its always a risk to go out and hunt alone. Though there are still those who retain their ancestor' naivety and innocence, most Erthians lost it because of the betrayal and other reasons (tell ya later). But instead of being bitter like the Aquians, they are instead impassive, apprehensive, and some are even loners and drifters, having little friends. However, Earthian's will lend a helping hand if they find an innocent in trouble. Their Royal Palace lies in the center of their capital Erthas: the Palace of Harmony.

 

Races-Elians

Elians: Elians are the most powerful, both energy and political wise. Being originally the most civilized race of the five, they are the most intelligent. They have fair skin and hair, and their eyes are usually of light colors. Their powers only include manipulating light energy, they can concentrate it into a beam, into balls, or even spikes. Being attacked by any of these directly will mostly likely kill you, but the Elians have a weakness. They have a short power supply; one attack can drain them completely, so they prefer to use weapons (which they can also engulf in light energy to enhance them) and hand to hand combat before using the main artillery. Elians’ wings are quite simple; they are pure white and the feathers are incredibly strong. The Elian can shrink or grow their wings depending on their purpose at that moment. Their wings also serve as a shield since an Elian’s feathers are the strongest and can withstand almost any attack. But the wings are permanently attached to their backs and if you manage to cut one off the Elian will be partially paralyzed and if you slice both off the Elian will die instantly (the wings have a weak point at where the shoulder and wing meet). Elian's eyes, hair, and wings glow brightly right before they use a powerful attack. Their favorite classes are the Paladin and the Warrior. They are also known to be Healers and Techno Knights (a warrior who can fight with technology). Besides their own weaknesses, they have very poor resistance toward dark energy attacks. It’s better for them just to dodge than try to withstand it (their wings also have a weakness for these attacks and would most likely last only one or two attacks before taking damage). Their clothes depends on their class, but most prefer metal armors (plate, chain, etc), and all wear cloaks to hide their wings. They earn their money with their technology and by their Gateways, which are able to teleport people from one place on the planet to the next for a price.

Since the Great Empress Ariana was from Elinas, Elians have the most power over the world. They’ve won the tournament and secured the crown more times than any other race. This is manly because of their abilities, technology, and strategic intelligence. The Elinas Territory has many institutes and libraries, covering everything from their own culture and almost everything of the others. It’s the main place for learning, and people of all races come to study and/or train. But they have a very strict justice system, which every Elian follows with pride. If you are caught breaking the law, you will be sent to the Tribunal and most likely be sentenced to death unless you can think of a very good and convincing reason why you did it (if you succeed, then you’ll probably only get exiled). Elians may be a bit egotistic and arrogant, but no other race tries to do good as much as they do. They shared their knowledge and technology willingly and would fight to the death to stop something they believe to be wrong. The Elinas Territory is the only place where its habitable for all the races. They get along pretty well with everyone, including the Sinalettais (well…better than the Pyrians anyways). The Royal Palace of Elinas, is called the Palace of Light.

 

Races-Delanians

Delanis Sinalettians: Sinalettians, or Sinaletts for short, are the most stealthiest and sneakiest of the races. They have black hair, black eyes, and pale skin. Their abilities include being able to form objects (made out of some strange poisonous black substance called Dark-matter) out of thin air that last for only several hours before disappearing. No one knows for sure where this substance comes from, not even the Sinaletts themselves, they just do it (some say it comes from another dimension). They can also disappear into a shadow and reappear from another. Sinaletts are hard to catch and one strike from their “handmade” weapons seriously injure you. They’re the only race who doesn’t have wings and so cannot fly. But they have perfect night vision, great stamina, and are even quicker than the Erthians. Their favorite classes are the Ninja and Shadowcaster. They can’t stand light and so whenever they travel away from their dark lands, they wear hooded cloaks and clothes that cover their entire bodies. The Delanis Territory makes their money by making and selling weapons. Sinalettian blades are the most sharpest, strongest, and expensive weapons on the market (the only weapons more expensive are the Elian’s high-tech ones). The key is Dark-matter mixed with the right metal. It loses the poisonous touch that weapons made out of raw Dark-matter has, but it’s stronger and doesn’t disappear after a period of time.

Some of the other races (especially the Pyrians) still mistrust the Sinaletts, even after a millennium of peace. But the Sinaletts have proved themselves worthy of respect after the first Sinalett won the crown. He did not misuse his power and kept to the Elian’s laws. And, according to them, they have destroyed all connection they had with the Alettais and vowed eternal allegiance to the other races of Arian. But unlike the other races, the Sinaletts kept most of their knowledge and cultures to their own domain. The only reasons you would see a Sinalett in Elinas Territory is for knowledge or political business. They are very strong-willed and will not stop until they’ve accomplished their goal. Most Sinaletts usually don’t care about anyone, but themselves and won’t do something unless there’s something in it for them. They’ve dubbed their Royal Palace of Delanis, the Palace of Supreme Darkness.


Delanis Alettais: They are exactly the same as the Sinaletts, except that they have black wings and can use dark energy attacks. They are an evil, corruptive race that care absolutely nothing but the superiority of their race. They believe they are the true rulers of the universe. As you can tell, they have huge ego’s and hate anything that’s not like them. While the Sinaletts won’t stop till they’ve accomplished their goal, an Alett will do anything to get what they want…even if it mean the destruction of an entire civilization. Right now, the entire race is sitting somewhere in a dimensional prison at the far reaches of space.

(At the moment, you can’t make an Alett character, but there will be a time later in the story that you can. It’s more fun to have more than one person play the bad guys)

 

Interracial Characters

Interracial characters: There being so few Aquians and Erthians on Arian, there are some who paired with each other. Their children have the appearance of both races and a bit of both racial abilities. Ten years ago, when the current Empress, Isis, came to power, she passed a law that prohibits the union of two people of different race. This is because the Aquian and Erthian races have been dwindling because of interracial relationships and the law would help increase their numbers. However, no matter what the reason, many didn’t see eye to it, but Elian law is Elian law and you had to obey. The worst thing about this is that the people who already belong to two races faced persecution by the Elians. In their eyes those kind of people had broken their law, even thought they were born after the decree, and the Sinalettians didn’t like them because they had way too much power for their own good. Only the Pyrians accepted them and even objected to the law, but only because most of them were attracted to the Erthians.

The most common mixed race is the Pyrian/Erthian and the Erthian/Aquian. Sinaletts/Elians do exist, though few in numbers and heavily persecuted since their powers resemble those of the Alettais. Interacial races usually stay away from Elinas and keep to the race that most accepts them (the Sinallets/Elians have difficulty with this and usually become drifters). Sometimes, their appearance is mostly one sided and chose to hide themselves among which ever race is most dominate in them, pretending to be “normal”. Its only during the final rounds of the Tournament do you ever see people of two races in the Elinas Territory.

(Whichever race is the most dominant those powers will be the strongest, while the recessive race will lack several of their powers. So like a Elian/Sinalettian can shoot energy beams and teleport through shadows, but can’t summon Dark-Matter. Use your imagination, but don‘t make them too powerful)

 

Other Stuff you should know:

~~ Aquians and Erthians are not allowed to compete in the Tournament since they: 1. are low in numbers; 2. did not participate in the Great War; and 3. have been decided to be too weak compared to the three main races (Pyrians, Elians & Sinalettians). Some are pretty pissed off about it.

~~ Males can compete in the Tournament, but it has been proven that females are stronger than the boys. There has only been ten male rulers over the millennium.

~~ Interracial people cannot participate in the Tournament. They just go there to see the outcome.

~~ People from Arian age normaly till the age of 16-29 (it differs from person to person), then they stop growing and live for about hundred more years if not longer.

~~ You have to be sixteen or older to compete in the Tournament

(You won't be participating in the tournament, this is just in case you're curious why there's only girls fighting in the last round and other stuff.)
