Fruits Basket Hey Guess What??!!!

I got an e-mail from Tokyopop saying that they are gonna license Fruits Basket manga!! Is that great or what?? I had taken a survey of theirs and had asked for Fruits Basket! Wow never thought this would happen!! Some may be as happy as me others maybe less than excited! But oh well!! The thing is I already started collecting the Japanese verison, I have up to volume 8. hehehehehehehe o well I'll still check the english verison out. it atta be fun!

Well, I have mixed feelings about this news. On the one hand, Fruits Basket will be available in English for the fans to enjoy. On the other hand, well....it's translated manga, and you always lose something in translation, no matter how good it is.

Although I must say that I'm happy that Tokyopop got the license. They do pretty good work, and they do smart work too. They know what the fans want.

I don't know that I'll be buying the translated manga, but that's because I just don't buy translated stuff usually. Haven't yet, anyway.

When exactly are they supposed to release Fruits Basket? I've only heard "sometime in 2004".

 

I believe it's due to come out sometime in the first quarter, but I can't say for sure. They haven't given specific dates on the webpage yet.

Its not good news to me, because after licensening Fruits Basket, I cant leech the manga anymore :sad:

 

I heard that they were supposed to be out in Feb.

Actually the manga is coming out Feb. 10, 2004 so you're right Kyrie!! My lil sister is gonna get this manga cuz i have the japanese verison and she can't read japanese but i'm still gonna continue to buy the japanese verison. heehee!! I can't wait!!!

Heehee so my sister got the english version of Fruits Basket and they translated it very well!! But I must admit the printing is a bit light. If you compare it to the japanese version it's lighter but hey it's still awesome!! I love how they kept mostly the same cover with a little touch of their own authenticity. The cover is very pretty and very eye catching don't ya think and I love how they kept the inside picture of whoever is on the cover waking up. I was comparing the translation to the original and it was awesome! There was one place I would've put something else but that's a small matter. So who ever bought it, what did ya think? It kinda stinks that the next one isn't coming out until April but about it, why do ya think? They got a million other manga to translate too. I really want them to translate Hanakimi or "Hanazakari No Kimitachi E" (For you in full blossom) It's actually similar to "Girl got game" or also originally known as "Power". Anyways I'm just really happy at the very clean job Tokyopop did, very proud of them and very thankful!! Heehee!! Tell me what you guys think! :anime:

 

Why didn't I think of a name like that-it should have been Kawaii Chibi Neko-because EVERYBODY loves cut little kittys.

Yep fruits basket is here i got the first mange it goooood but i still like the japanese version more umm i like the dvds too :sweat:
