Anime Highlander: Vengeance

Newest highlander anime movie.

Storyline
Colin MacLeod, the immortal Scottish Highlander, travels with the wise-cracking ghost Amergan in search of the immortal despot Marcus Octavius, who killed Colin's lover on the Celtic plains centuries earlier. The once great city of New York is now submerged under water, with only one dominant fortress towering over the sea, the fortress of Marcus Octavius. MacLeod is torn between saving the survivors of New York and hunting down his nemesis.

I have always liked Highlander. So, I hope that this is a good one. The trailer looks awesome.

 

Here is a little info on Colin.

I can see why they would want to use a new one. Don't want to mix storylines.

 

Firstly, I've seen every Highlander movie out there with Connor and the regular tv series with Duncan. However.....this is the first I'm hearing about it as an anime show and apparently this has been going for some time. I seriously did not know this was an anime. This will definantely be checked into more since I just saw the trailer.

 

I saw a good chunk of the franchise but the only one I really enjoyed was the original movie. The trailer reminded me too much of the sencond movie.

No villain in the series was ever as good as Kurgan.

 

An anime of highlander, cool.
Bought a sword because of that show/films.

 

Considering that Highlander: The Source is starting to film soon, the anime will do well. Hehe, Highlander is making a comeback.. bonus.

I'm glad that that they are sticking with Collin so the stoylines don't conflict. But it would be nice if some of the old (no pun intended) characters made an appearance in the anime, such as Methos and Duncan.

 

Finally got to watch the movie and I must say it is great.

It does match many of the highlander movies/tv shows I think.

You get a glimps of the past and an undestanding of the character this way.

Collin isn't godily. He makes mistakes. Dies for it and lives again.

Only thing that truly lives on is his vengeance. Almost 2000 years wow.

Collin said "if God exists, he must be one sadistic bastard." I got a laugh it was funny. Well Dahlia refutes this, claiming that man, not God, has brought the horrors of war, terrorism and pollution upon him.

The time of the movie is mainly set in the year 2187 a.d. The world is completily curropt and almost dead. Monsters and men run together. Man kind is dying. Future looks rather bleak.

All in all a good movie. A few laughs along the way with a very sad ending in a way. Leaving us to believe there is more to life then vengence.
