Art HnG wallpaper

Yo, UK here, on one of my all too infrequent visits to this forum, just thought I'd share with all of you my latest wallpaper, a wallpaper of Fujiwarano Sai from Hikaru no Go.

Unfortunately I've been missing out on that show thanks to my absence..

but the paper looks good. If I could quibble about one thing, ti would be the border between the bamboo and the blue stripe in the lower left. Not very defined (thanks to them being the same color) Dunno how one could fix that.. a cartoon black line wouldn't be that swift.

Nonetheless, very nice. I can see myself finding that at some wallpaper site and DLing it

And from the look of the character design, this looks like just the sort of show the Experimental Division would go for..

 

I thought about using colors from sai for the background, it turned out the black worked best out of what I tried, and when I tried other colors for the bamboo, horizontal stripe or the vertical kanji/kana random jaggies it just didn't come out well, maybe I just didn't grab the right colors. The original is slightly larger, I'll be making a larger wallpaper when I rework it, I think I just shyed away from making a 1280x1024 wallpaper because of file size... but now that I have some prodding, a rework is in order. BTW, thank Kogarashi and Shadowbard that I'm posting it... were it not for them, I'd likely have not posted it anywhere and it would have festered away on my hard drive until one day it would have eventually been deleted, on accident or otherwise.
