    Word about the grapevine is that this place seems to be on a downtrend.

    How about wtf?

    Rags has only been here a few months more than myself and I'm simply not seeing this "decline" that he mentions. Change, Yes, but to say we're having a decline is like saying Grandma is in a

    I'm speaking frankly and bluntly here, regardless of how it may be taken by those who read it:

    A: I may have joined June '04, but I know a lot about the goings-on as far back as the beginnings, too. I've seen much of what BJP is and was, more than you'd think I have.

    B: The quality of a community is at the end directly related to the people in it. Whatever new stuff is brought in, it's the people that matter, and I think most would agree that all or most of the best people are gone or going.

    C: What can I say? I took off the rose coloured lenses some time ago, I look at BJP a lot more objectively than I used to. Frankly speaking the quality of discussions *is* on a downtrend.

    lol so says others on the board.... They all whine and say that oh maybe they should leave... well I'm to lazy to state my oppinions on that today. To those of you complaining about the quality of the discussions... why don't you do something about it? Try and introduce intellectual ideals to the slobering undereducated masses =). As for me, well Jackabee is a slackerbee, but atleast I'm not whining.

    i agree with wert, and jackabee. pointing out the problems(like how i just typed that word. wow XD) is one thing, but actually striving to change them is another. you can try and enforce a posting rule, but then we get bitched at for being "strict", so we let the posts slide, and then we get moaned at for "stupidity in soandso's post".
    being as i joined like, within the first month of the boards existance, i know one thing. alot of us talked, and still do talk, outside the board. almost everyone here today does it to. hell, if it's still around, the death match thread i believe came from a tangent in another thread somewhere, and via planning in icq and other things, it came to humorous results. (a matress to MO's head for instance:see my gallery for reference >.>) there was alot of silly stuff, but it wasn't just dumb stuff that barely added to anything.

    and besides, if most of our "best people" are gone or leaving, then why even bothing fixing it? sounds like hope has already been lost and the shovel brought out. we have to help people figure things out, and as wert said guide them into becoming the great posters lingering within. while posting the rules publicly isn't allowed by the crew, i'd like to point out that nothing is said about PMs. i mean, you can't go "don't do that or else". but you can go, "instead of posting 'lols i <3 m34t", maybe go 'i like meat for the health aspects and beneifits it provides me such as: blah blah blah'".
    it's the whole "think before you speak" thing.

    and i'm always blunt. i just make efforts to not come across as an ass. (note: i'm just commenting on myself and do not mean i'm calling anyone a name or anything. well, other than myself. cause i am an ass, most people just don't get that via text for some reason o_O;)

    lol, Bloodberry. I'm taking my steps to helping the place, anyway. I don't have time like I used to so I'm calling in reinforcements. :p I'm trying to get friends of mine to join up, though no one's actually come along yet.
