I'm both poorer and richer for it. All the money i've spent on anime over the last few years must amount to a very ugly figure but in return i've discovered an artform that's given me countless hours of joy and entertainment. I've laughed, cried, smiled and hated (take it Shishio). I'm not ashamed of my love for anime - it's even in my CV!, although my job interviewers did give me pecuilar glances :sweat2:.

    Ho Ho hoeee.

Well I just watch Anime for entertainment value nothing else. But its probably the only type of entertainment that keeps me out of trouble. well before I started watching Animes, I would get into so many fights. God I had like 40 suspensions in one year once and that not including about 100 late detentions (Detention from 3 P.M. to 6:30 P.M.) thats about 40 days of no trouble. After I got into anime which is in my 10th grade, my suspension dropped to 8 and only 20 late detention (Mainly for swearing at my teachers). and on 11th grade 1 suspension and 5 late detentions.

I totally agree that it helps escape from reality. When something bad happens in my life, then I could just pop the TV on and watch something funny until I'm settled enough to do something about it.

Even though the majority of it is entertainment, it also gets you thinking sometimes, y'know? Like, what kinda guy thinks up Eva, or Lain?

Anyway, anime in general helped because it gave me yet another outlet that I could enjoy doing. I think that's just about right.

for me, Anime gave me something to do. And it made lots of role modles. It gave me that escape to the fantasy world I am already in. I can really say that it has changed my life. in a very good way!:D

I think it was anime that helped me polish my writing skills. Plus, I've grown a lot through growing with it. Not a lot of people in my area are anime fans, and since I was an only child, I was used to that. Except that it hurt a bit less to not be too liked by some people. ^^; That's different now because I learned to conquer that "people think this about me" thing, but I think that stemmed from enjoying anime. And writing, of course. It has also reminded me that as a child I wanted to be able to read Chinese. Now I know that I can learn to read kanji, which, while not Chinese, are close enough to make me fulfill that childhood dream of mine. ^_^ I always loved the Far East anyway. ^^ And I think my career will have something to do with languages and writing. (Wow. That's a lot!)

Anime is an inspiration for me.

It carries many messages such as love, humor, family, friends, and stories. The ambitions and courages of characters in anime sometimes illustrate out some things that we are afraid to do ourselves or things that do not show in society today (real love is lacking these days). From the stories, I'm able to create ideas for my own original stories and characters myself. Animes give me a way to tell others my thoughts and emotions and to live in worlds that are away from reality, so if I'm sad, I can go there. Animes drive me through times when I feel bored as well. I love drawing, and animes are the funnest things to draw! They give me something to be obsessed with as well. ^_^

What I have learned from anime

I have learned that even though my real bf is not dependable, I can always look to the sexy bishies of FY or Haunted Junction to cheer me up. hehe. j/k.

I've also learned that I am pretty good with language. I've picked up alot of Japanese and hopefully, next summer I am going to take a course at a local community college. I might even consider a career in translating. Maybe not Japanese, but possibly Spanish. Even so, its made me realize what my strengths are. :anime:

It helped with my carrer goal. I always wanted to do a comic or cartoon but most of my ideas were not of superheros and some were a bit to real to become a comic also I didn't realy a style of drawing that I really liked so I gave up until I got into anime and manga. It hepled me get back on track and closer to my dream.

I think what I was most looking for when I got into anime was thought-provoking stuff. Since Evangelion was the first anime I really watched (and I missed most of the first half) it set the tone for what I was going to look for in anime. It was ep 16 or so, when the Eva first started really trying to make contact with Shinji, I was like, this is so much deeper and more thought-out than any sci-fi I've seen before, and in general it made me think more seriously about the issues it dealt with. For another thing, well, I know this might sound wierd, but in a way characters like Asuka and Misato really made me think, "I really ought to stop being so inertial in my own life and try to do something with it; I've got to take control and make my life worth something."

Beyond that, I find that I get the most entertainment and enjoyment out of anime that has that serious intelligence and a lot of care put into it. The better the character development there is, the better the anime's impact on me because it makes me connect with the characters and to try to understand them and understand myself and my own emotions and values.

Well! It helped by making me understand the Japanese culture. It also helped me develop some graphic skills and advance my web design skills. How? Well, I like anime so I go online and search for some pictures. Pictures lead me to FAn sites and from their Experiences I gained a lot o insight :)
