I am pretty angry right now. Every time I go to the #m2a irc channel, I am barraged by stupidity.

Let me go over a few basic rules:

    A) You're not supposed to sit there and call each other names. This is called 'fighting'. We don't like it because frankly, most of us have better things to do than watch people fight, or attempt to calm down a situation. Act like mature adults, and learn how to interact on a social level without resorting to insults.

    B) If an operator of the channel tells you to drop a subject, you should drop it. 'Stop fighting' does not mean 'please continue insulting each other'. 'Drop the subject' does not mean 'please keep talking about this'. It's not rocket science.

    C) Tattle-tailing is immature and lame. 'Look what XXX did! Do something about it!' isn't appropriate behavior. Any action taken is at the operators discretion. Not yours.

I don't go on irc to be a god damned referee, I go to talk to people. Being an operator, I am supposed to deal with situations as they occur. I try to do this to the best of my ability. However, things like tonight simply infuriate me, and a lot of you lost a lot of respect in my eyes.

I believe that everyone who participates in chat should give this a read. I will sticky it for a while.

I really don't know if I want my ops back in that hole. It's gone to hell since the mass deopage, none of the old regulars chat in there any more, and because of that less and less people are going in there. I think it's too late to save it now, and if it was up to me, I'd just let it die.

I agree with Ark completely, there is far to much arguing over little things. Its hard to go there and enjoy chatting anymore, we need to restore the chat.

How about something along the lines of a Law system? Offenses get people points from channel Ops, the points can be kept track of on a bot, and bannings issued if too many points accumulate? Of course, the number of points would go down over time. Or, you people can grow up. Whichever.

There was a law since when? Freedom of chat I say. Plus if there was a point system I would so go for getting the most. :D
Basher- 3 million and two points, 32 bans and still going

But I have been nicer for some reason. Hmm i just don't know why.

A little thing about the rules.

    A) If someone calls you a name of course you are going to call them it back. Childish yes but in RL it wouldn't happen at least not to me though. People are way more free inside the chat room.

    B) Easy to understand but sometimes things are left unsaid. Like sorry.

    C) I agree on this. But somethings do go unnoticed and isn't fair. Ops shouldn't get involved if they weren't in on the conversations to begin with. Like we all know Zanza does often.

*huggles Ark* I hope it gets better for you.

um, hate to point out, but ops are there to keep the place civil. if we weren't supposed to get involved, we wouldn't be there in the first place. i'm all for just a temp kick ban on both parties in the fight. if you were childish enough to start it, bye. if you were dumb enough to let a person that doesn't matter bother you into fighting back, bye but not for as long.
although, it just gets so stupid in there, i barely pay attention when i'm logged on.

To a degree. You forfeit your freedoms when it infringes on everyone else's rights.

Then you run the risk of being just as at fault as they are. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Have you ever said it?? I never heard you saying it and most of the time you start all the fuss
So, I get "I shouldn't get involved when doing something right [to me since I am an op there and its my job], and Ark gets huggles for kicking excited newbies?? :)

    Well, that's unfair :p

I have said it once. Sorry that is. Why would I say it if I never mean it? Plus I don't start all the fusses. If something has said about me or my chat friends of course I get involved. Name calling is childish but that is just a part of life. No one wants to be the bigger man/woman anymore. They would rather look tuff even if this is the Internet. Plus there is a lot of factors in name callings and "fuss."

There is a difference between a job and doing what is right. You don't get paid for this "job." Plus you could easily redeem yourself by scrolling up and see how the conversation started instead of acting on the last few things said. To us inside the chat room it is usually a debate but to you it looks like a fight.

Zanza, we could have easily settled this inside a nice PM but instead you had to bring others in on it.

    [15:33] * ZanChan sets mode: +o KaMeKaZi

[15:33] * You were kicked from #mangatoanime by KaMeKaZi (Yes, yes, you have been kicked by me - 309)
    -
[15:33] #mangatoanime unable to join channel (address is banned)

I am sorry Zanza that you were offended by it. *Sorry Number TWO* :D But if the shoe fits....

I could easily send this part to Cloud. But instead I will be the "bigger" or "better" woman here and end it on this note. "To wrongs don't make a right" ;) a saying from BMS.

Ark has been justified by all his kicks and bans to me except one. From my knowledge Ark has apologized for that one. Plus I would like to point out most are spammers which you being the "spam police" should appreciate what he does. And what should I say matter considering I am just a silly member?

/me gives Zanza a cookie for understanding

A job is a job for me, either I am getting paid for or not. Do you know what it means being a mod? That means that I am being trusted by the Admins to help them do the work, no matter what it is (Except if they wanted me to jump over a bridge or something :p)
Who told you that I don't??
First of all, you started it, and well..
I always op Kame if he promised to behave nice, but he didn't, so I deoped him..
Do it, do you think I will be scared if you tell Cloud or BMS?? I don't care, I don't care if they didn't allow ops for me, or anything of that matter. At least I won't be called "power abuser" when I stand for myself. Have you seen me kicking or banning anyone? At all?? Whenever I do that for myself, you call it power abusing.. what should I do then? Shut up and taking all the insults?? I don't see this going right :). Beside, I -have- been the "better" woman, I don't kick as much as Ark, you just like his kicks because thoes people 'annoy' you as well..

Beside, I have logs, since June 29th till today, except when I was away.. I will be more than happy to give them to Cloud or BMS to check them out.
And speaking of spammers, I recall this in one of my logs [September 21st to be specific]:

I got an idea. How about everyone stops pointing the finger and just stays quiet? We've all been guilty of this in the past.So just obey the rules. Not that I always do,but you get the point.

Hell, I'll admit that I've been annoying at times on the Chat. I openly apologize to anyone this would have annoyed. And I'm sure I've broken at least one rule. Nobody's perfect.

I can understand what Ark is saying, though. There is a lot of useless rule-breaking going on that doesn't have to. I'm sorry for all of this, even though it wasn't just me.

    Oh, God, now I'm rambling.

*nods* I agree with ark actually. I have seen alot of crap going on in the m2a chat that is rather childish, be it spamming or immature insults that are just pathetic. I will fully admit to the fact I have done it a time or two, but when the mods warn you, and you continue to do it you deserve to be kicked. However I have seen mods that tend to abuse the powers that have been granted. Just as an example I tried to sign on the other day and found myself banned and I havent been on in roughly 2 weeks. I am no longer banned as far as I know, but I would like to know what I could have possibly done to deserve a ban when I havent been there? I have also seen mods exchange childish insults between members as well, and kick them for it. Now then, is it honestly fair to have one kicked and not the other merely because one has op's? I think not... This is actually the main reason why I have chosen to avoid the chat room at all costs.
