YES! The patented, vietnamese doctor cure for a hiccup, provided to me many years ago by my Veitnamese bud and his Doktor Dad.

All you need is a single, tall glass of water. From there it's easy. Take a good sized swallow of the water (not too much you need to take at least 10 gulps from the glass), breathe in, breathe out, swallow another gulp, breathe in, breathe out, swallow, in, out, swallow, in, out (I know this sounds like a porno, but work with me here), swallow, in, out, swallow, in, out, and continue until you have polished off the glass. Use a second glass if necessary. If that fails stop, otherwise you'll explode from drinking too much water.

The secret lies in the complete breath you take inbetween swallows.

[Queue Guinnes Cutout Man] BRILLIANT!!! [End Queue]

And that is how you cure a hiccup.

Whenever I get hiccups I just hit my head on something like a bed or couch and it stops it right there.

I thought it was caused by an air bubble getting lodged somewhere in your throat so your body tries to drive it out by doing hiccups or something. That would explain why hitting my head on something clears it up.

actually, hiccups are a spasming of the diaphram, the organ/muscle thing under your lungs that makes you breathe in and out. regulating your breathing is supposed to help. i get te stupidest hiccups and they don't like to leave >.> regulating my breathing is the only thing that's worked for me. looks like this is a variation of just controlling your breathe in a sense heh
