Personally, I think it's one big joke. Although, the "emotion" put into it is amazingly there.

I took it seriously at first but the anime descriptions gave it away a little. Well written nonetheless.

OK this raises the question. Does the guy even know what the names are? :p

Anyway obviously this guy is some brainwashed cultist promoting his ultra-rightwing propaganda.

It is a fact that the japanese society is more inclined towards promiscuity. It's part of the "tradition" (I'm not saying that it's good, just saying that it's normal there).

Also, buddhism and shintoism are (IMHO) the most popular religions in japan - you wouldn't expect a japanese show present a 100% accurate view of christianity, would you? Shintoism is present in shows like Inuyasha (hello... shinto priestess outfits?).

Regarding ultra-violent shows with lots of blood splatters, like Yuyu Hakusho, or Dragonball Z, i'm against them. They shouldn't air in the first place. I think they're a disgrace to the whole image of Anime.

Anime is a cultural element that should be studied as such - it can't be classified automatically as "demonic". Another thing is that this guy just analyzed the most popular anime in the US, and he completely misses the point of studying or analyzing other shows.

Like, Detective Academy (OK OK that's recent, let's give him more "popular" examples: Captain Tsubasa, Detective Conan, Robotech... who can speak of Anime without mentioning Robotech! Please!

Also, Anime wasn't meant to be an educational program for the children, but as an entertainment. If people in the US or wherever that guy lives, were christians and had a strong moral value, i doubt he'd had to speak so strongly against "anime". People decide what they watch, and we have the famous ESRB ratings, don't we?

Worse - this guy only scares people away from christianity. Good job, pastor!

    P.S. I *don't* think it's a joke... i've seen fundamentalists speak even worse things.

I don't know myself - Apparently there was a homepage where people claimed that god hates sweden, and that's why god killed 3000 swedes. These pages should taken by a grain of salt.

The problem with that post, is that some people have a lack of knowledge within the anime world.

Nah. It's a joke. The most telling thing was how it said it was bad that the catholic church was portrayed in a less than perfect light in Hellsing; true fundies hate the catholic church (see Jack Chick). Oh, and that it gave respect to black people. A fundy wouldn't do that.

Yep, definitely a joke. Doesn't play its pretended role fully accurately, but that helps us know the tongue's in the cheek.

Didn't laugh much, though. Not quite up my alley.

    Reminds me of this thread.

Even if it's a joke, though, it's not a very funny one. People who say this kind of thing, (and mean it) are in numbers higher than I'd like to believe, and though their viewpoint, and logic, is flawed, they will not stray from it under any circumstances. Such people can be very dangerous.

Inuyasha not ment for children? Then why is it rated "Older Teens?" It was kinda funny, how the guy put it together with all those words. ^_^

    <.< >.>

Okay this is obviously a joke, just someone making fun of the closed-minded people that do say those things.
I mean those kind of people DON'T know about what soem fans do (like write yaoi) they usually just go "EVIL!!!" and try to stray away from it as much as they can. Also they wouldn't know of all those titles that aren't even out yet or aren't even mainstream. That's just unlikely. Unless they ahve a complete otaku kid. o_O
But this was obviously written by a either a young adult or teen. Someone who isn't very serious. I mean look at the Pokemon thread that Shinryu brougth up. Man, those guys were PASSIONATE and SERIOUS about the matter. This guy isn't. :p

I'm just surprised Pokemon and Sailor Moon weren't there. More proof that it's a joke. (if it was serious they WOULD'VE been up there)

[EDIT]Oh and they would've said Anthy was Indian, not black. When closed-minded people see the red dot it instantly means Indian to them. (which Anthy probably is...I don't think it was ever brought up in the series, and why would it? :p) He only called her black so he could use the slavery joke. :p
