Japanese i have a question about japanese clothing...

ok if your familiar with the Shinsengumi...then this will ok might be easier to explain...ok you know the coats that they wear? i was wondering what those are called? *wants one*

 

Hmm? Do you have a picture? I'm not quite sure what you mean, maybe your talking about the Susoyoke? It's kinda liek a little half-slip.

 

er hold on...

its a longish coat about to the hip...with long open arms like the arms of the kataginu of swordsmen...its best visible on Hijikata *the tall one that looks like Aoshi*

 

I'd say its either a extended Hanten Jacket, or its a lined mens Kimono.

 

Oh.. only to the hip? most lightly a Hanten or Haori jacket then.

Take alook at some Kendo uniforms.
