Can you get married at 14? I have a friend who is trying to and I want to know if she can...Somebody please help me out here!!!

 

I think it's legal once you turn 18

Erm, you have to ask the goverment first for the legal age of getting married.

I.e: Here in sweden the age is ...18 (HPM, correct me if I am wrong).

But I mean, ...Marriage? 14years?!...

I think you can elope...but its not legal.

Why would your friend want to get married at 14 anyway? Not only is it agianst the law but its dumb. She probably won't be inlove with that guy in a few weeks anymore but end up being bound to him for life.

If that's the life she wants to lead....

Well, I think she really is an idiot to marry at age 14. My dad's says that it is illegal to marry at that age. However, if I was still in my country, I would have a boyfriend and married already(I'm 12), because in my culture, girls are to be married when they are preteens or teenagers.If you were in my culture and you are not married when you are 20, not many people respect you. It's stupid. Anyways, I think that it is a very stupid idea to marry at 14.

 

Yeah, marriage age depends on where you are. I believe that Culkin kid from Home Alone got married when he was sixteen. And, if I'm not mistaken, got divorced about a year later. Anyways, tell your friend she's a schmuck and that it's illegal and if that doesn't do it, not much more you can do than let her screw up on her own and lament her mistake for however long she decides to stay with the fellow.

any way who would want to mess up there life like that next thing you know she'll have children and won't know what to do she'll pretty much be lost. shes really gonna mess up her life if she dose somethin like that. one of my friends had a baby when she was 14 and her guy was 18 i feel sorry for her because she said it so hard to raise a child and shes sorry she made that mistake.

I'd give another lecture about the 14 year old marriage, but, well, it's all been said and done.

Teenagers can be very stubborn *knows from experience* Why does she want to get married? If you tell me it's because of that whole "I won't lose my virginity until I get married", then...

But yeah, if you live in the States, it depends on what state you're in for the age thing. I hear you can get married at like, 10 or something in some states... 3, even

 

She may be an idiot, or it might be true love, we don't know. So let her be I guess, and support her. Anyways, I think I heard from somewhere that if both the male's and female's parents agree to the marriage, they can go to court and actually get married legally, or something like that. Well, I hope your friend knows what she up for, hope the advice helps also.

 

You can only get married in the US if you are 18. But even if it may be her true love Tsukasa, it is kinda early to get into anything.
How old are they both. I know one is 14 how old is the other. Becuase if they had sex thats rape even if they sould get married. There is a law in the US about that. correct me if i am wrong. I think that there is another law that says if you live together for a certain amount of years, you are leagaly married, but i think you would still have to be of age.

COMPLETELY STUPID.

Parents can okay it at that age that's about it. Is she pregnant? Even if she was it still would be stupid. At that age they just barely got out of diapers. (that's kinda bologna) Tell your friend to go ahead and ruin her life. You wont have anything to do with it. Walk away from the friendship now or she'll make you cover for her while she runs away.

 

wow...this kind of situation would make my mind blow up if she was a friend of mine. ummm its only legala if she has her parents consent i think...or she can wait it out...i don't know...
