If i understood your question correctly, you are looking for a way to create characters for free-hand drawing correct? If so, then just take references from Animes or Mangas and try to adapt a style. After that, just think up something that would look cool (based on all your references) and draw it your own way.

Well, I suppose what you can do is to think of anything that you would like to see in a series. Just think about it, and what you like/think is cool/stylish-whatever. Draw whatever you want, and as for when it gets to the part where you actually have to draw it, you can use reference or keep trying to draw what you think. Even if you only have a vague idea, just start drawing. Eventually creativeness will appear, and should develop. If that made any sense, i hope it'll help.

 Creative drawings/poses are my bane. My advice would be don't think too hard trying to make brand new poses. The originality comes when you have a good setting and a good character design as a base. Props and accessories like weapons and vehicles also help liven things up. Drawing a girl against a white background is boring compared to drawing a girl interacting with a sports car in a sunset. Set out to draw a character in these situations and original drawings will come out on their own. The only trick then is to have the will to see it through in the first place. :dizzy2:

Hmm... So your brain makes images that fade in and out when you try to draw an image from imagination too. My solution when that happens is to draw it in pieces and fit them together in photoshop later. A hand here, a head there... etc.

In this case, I would start with the focal point of the flash and draw the object first. Then draw the actual flash later. Of course, that's if you want the object to be the focus and not the flash. Otherwise, just reverse the order of how you draw it.

Ah. Well, the theory is more or less the same. It's just more work to copy and paste by hand rather than on a PC. In anycase, good luck to you and happy holidays.

Write your ideas on a piece of paper, for example a description of a scene and a character. Then use a fast, sketchy style to draw it. This way you can capture the idea before it fades, without worrying about mistakes or details. Also, sometimes it's easier to shape a body by slowly creating it with many sketch lines.
