If you had your own manga, what would it be about and why?

Since I am actually working on one, I'll let you in on it...

Update: I've renamed Chimou to Kaji, since it's more fitting. Kaji means "bright sun" and his element is fire. I also added elements to the profiles of the characters.

Kokoro no Naka no Ken (The Sword in the Heart)

    Author: C. Jirardesu
    Age: One month.
    Estimated first chapter release: Unknown.

    Current Characters

    Kaji
    Age: 17
    Sex: Male
    Element: Fire
Info: Yes, I do like the name Chimou. He comes from a normal family. His siblings were all popular and social people, so he is the odd ball of the family. Chimou is quite and likes to keep to himself. He is also a little on the short side for his age.

    Heiko
    Age: 17
    Sex: Female
    Element: Water
Info: A new student at Hikaru High School. She takes an immediate interest in a short kid named Chimou. She doesn't quite now why though.

    Shouri
    Age: 17
    Sex: Female
    Element: Lightning
Info: This girl has had feelings for Chimou ever since she was 10 years old, but has always been too afraid to tell him. When Heiko shows up she immediately labels her a threat and tries many ways to get Heiko out of her way to Chimou.

About: Chimou is a 17 year old boy who no one ever notices. He liked things that way. That is until he met a girl named Heiko. Ever since that day when he gave the supposed new student a tour of the school, his life was never the same again. How so? Well, it all began shortly after the tour when a scream came from the roof of the school...

If I could make one, I'd make one about my sci fi story, War of a Thousand Stars, as seen in the Fiction/Writing forum.

Well it focuses an an independant group, which is sort of like a mercenary peace keeping force (its a large force, not just 4 guys and a ship either. Im talking fleets.)

Anyway, they get caught up in a war of intergalactic propotions as an enigmatic force arrives in the galaxy.

Twists, turns, political side-winding, action, romance, comedy and philosophy have places in the story. :)

The Story I've Posted So Far

In the above link you get the prologue, part of the first chapter, and a rough preliminary drawing for one of the ships. :) More to come down the road.

not to worry about that chi! sometimes manga writers have manga artists draw for them. and hey making up stories is good too! o so i get the one month old. yea tokyo pop just eneded their first contest but they're gonna have another one. there are ten winners and the first one won a lot of money. such as $2,500, that's grand prize. first prize wins $1,000 and eight runner ups win $500. it was a very hard decision for tokyo pop cuz they got a lot. but people thinking of creating a manga check this contest out. it has a deadline and the bad thing is they can't return your entry.all 10 winners get their manga published and released. its a very good boast to ones determination to becoming a manga-ka.

Yep! Like CLAMP. Though they're a group. They write and draw there own stuff. But they sometimes switch jobs and stuff. That's why sometimes you'll notice that the drawing styles will change in their work.

Well, actually I have over 10 stories that I plan to turn into manga. My current one is called Cherry Rose and it's mainly about my life. I have everything all planned out, I even have a map of the school and everyone have different names.
I mainly write action stories but Cherry Rose is my first different one.

You have to start somewhere, Blue. One thing would have to know when making anything language related is grammar though.

I've got problems making the stories. I can draw well enough, nd i can come up with a general story...but i can't fill in all the in between parts. It's so hard. I've started a ton of manga but they're all in mid-story. I just don't know what to do with them. :(

Sorry kyrie, I don't think that I can help you. I've got story problems, but mine is dealing with trying to create a good ending. If I was you, I would probably gather them all, mash them together and make one manga out of them. I don't know how that would work tho, and thats only supposing that your manga is all related somehow.

I only have one in full production (and one in storage). Its really quite developed with a full list of characters, names, professions, powers and such, not to mention their rivals. My brother is co-author of this and helps out developing the "Spirits" as I call them and we are both deadly afraid of people stealing our ideas. So I will not reveal anything much. Basically the ideas for it came about when I looked back how old the lore is with elvish and dwarvish races and how people haven't "yet" created anything new. Also, another idea came from the old school cartoon that I liked "Battle of the Superfriends" were each side had a rival. The story is vastly more developed than the way it sounds, and warfare is a constant in it too. Just the only thing that holds me back is my inability to draw people, fast. I can draw backrounds, ships, and diagrams fast. But to get a ONE person looking the way I want them to takes anywere from half an hour to a whole day (each person!). I don't know, maybe its just because I want them to be as perfect as possible which takes forever to do.
