I found this in an extremely interesting article in my local newspaper Lawsuit triggers tighter regulations over Un-American Cartoon The successful $50 000 Lawsuit against Funimation studios over the cartoon ¡§Dragonball Z¡¨ inciting ¡§Un-American¡¨ thoughts into a Wisconsin child has caused the regulations board to tighten restrictions on foreign entertainment. Mrs PJ Ledford of Wisconsin had initiated the lawsuit when her 12 year old son Peter commented on wanting to ¡§Move to Japan¡¨ when he grew up. ¡§I was devastated¡¨ the 42-year-old housewife commented. ¡§What had these Japanese cartoons been telling him?¡¨ The Court Hearing lasted for only a single day, as the decision was easily determined from the beginning. The incentive for tighter regulations include forcing all cartoons imported from Japan to be ¡§Americanised¡¨. That is all characters are to be renamed with western names, and locations to be moved to America. Dr Reed Aldabrooks of the University of Wisconsin commented, ¡§In the new times we live in, we cannot allow any foreign power to incite Un-American feelings into our culture. This would allow any youth to be incited into resorting to terrorism. Although the new regulations are not complete, it is certain that this will soon be spread to all media of foreign origins.
What kind of ethnic cleansing #@$% is that? I'm pretty sure that your American charter, which the court follows is similar to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms when it states: for one thing, "15. (1) Every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law withough discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disbility." And for the court to discriminate other cultures by saying that they are un-American for one thing goes against rights and also the fact that America is multi-cultural. I can't forget section 2 either(and for sure the American should have this as well) "(b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication" In this it states that there is freedom of media, and seeing how race is protected as well.. well I don't think they would try that in Canada Does anyone know the American Bill of Rights? I've yet to study it... but you would probably be more help in this case than I'm being ^^;;;;;

I'm sure you'll strike terror into their hearts. Seriously, this has to be a very poorly planned April Fools joke. For one, they can't do something like that legally. Two, "my local newspaper". Vague. Theres no source, NOTHING in the major news outlets. There isnt even a scan of the article.

i didnt find it funny at all, when i read it i started to get pissed. but then again, i forgot it was april fools the other day. so its koolios i guess, but if that ever happened, id be fighting this government

Well they already cut out most violence, blood, strong language and everything else that makes anime for the older crowd. All that's left is making it all Black and White w/ no sound and only pictures not animated. To bad it isn't as easy as saying you want to move to japan to get $50,000. demon girl, please watch what you say. i wouldn't run around telling ppl to kiss your ***. that is not construction posting and i highly recomend you CHILL! so you have a very conservative sense of humour and don't like april fools, which lead you one way, and are totally false. a good look at that post would have told you it was wrong. you can't do crap like that even in this country. i highly doubt the mother even had the kid recorded, and then can get introuble for recording him. so, common sense steps in. thank you for making a once funny april fools joke, damned annoying...sigh
