from what I've heard, Juuni Kokki has been trimmed from a planned run of 68 episodes down to 45. This means I have only 4 episodes left :(

This means we get to miss out on (this could be considered spoilerous, but if you haven't seen it the names won't mean crap) General Risai's trip to Kei to ask Youko for help locating Taiki. At least there's still the novels. Just a matter of getting ahold of them. Scripts I have (for a couple) but no pictures to go with them. Oh well, imagination can be a wonderful thing.

All that's left on the anime side is watching Shouryu clear up some rebellion that happened 500 years ago in flashback.. nuts.

edit: 500 years.. little more than 50 hehe

Might it be possible that Pierrot would continue the series at a later date? I haven't read much on it, but I did know they were stopping early. It makes me sad.

    Any word on the novels?

T___T SAD INDEED! This is one of my favorite series. I've seen up to episode 40!
IT's soo good? Why did they stop it? Was it unpopular?

From what I've heard (remember, this is all hearsay and rumor) the series was stopped because Pierrot felt they did not have enough base material to continue the series at the quality they've been working at so far.

I also heard it was because they would have trouble working Youko in, but I don't exactly see why that would be a problem. She wasn't in the Taiki arc at all, and it was quite good. Also unresolved...

Does anybody have any more concrete information on this?

I hope the novels get transulated and published? Do you have some sites where I can get the transulation?

I really hope Pierrot are still willing to continue the series, once they are able to resolve that matter... It's really sad to stop the series. I've got to say that this is the only series I'd never get bored of watching is again and again!

    *I found episodes 41 ans 42 on the net! I'm soo happy. :D *

It's a short break? They'll continue in the future won't they?

Couldn't work Youko in? Not enough base material? Not what I hear :)

As I mentioned in my first post, the remaining episodes were to be taken from the novel Tasogare no Kishi, Akatsuki no Sora (Shore in Twilight, Sky at Daybreak), wherein "(General) Risai meets Youko to request help in summoning Taiki." The novel is already published. It is about Youko (and Risai and Taiki, and would have wrapped his arc up nicely). Would have been good :(

Maybe "did not have enough base material" means they ran out of money/resources to do it? I do hope they can pick it up again later. How can they not?

    Some translations: http://people.cornell.edu/pages/kf49/animeObserver/

12k-tp is also getting started on translating the Tsuki no Kage, Kage no Umi novel.

Yes, the English title is The Twelve Kingdoms. I know the first two DVDs are already out, with the third one on the way. Sadly, I haven't been able to buy more than the first DVD.

Definitely a series worth watching, even if they aren't continuing it beyond where they've got.

I've seen up to episode 11, and I'm in love. the music, artistic direction and story blew me away. yes its dissapointing to hear it's not continuing further past 42 45?.. there's always hope..

edit: watched up to episode 26 now, and the only thing that bugs me about the anime, is how they have gone about presenting the story now. I mean, things can be resolved sooner and I don't like all those recap episodes.. I understand that if you forget what's happened, maybe one is fine, but not a rerun as a recap.. sorry I'm blabbering..

    I also heard that they couldn't work Youko into the story but I did hear that they would continue the rest later... *hopefully* I love this series! and I really want to read the novels. x_x;;
Ya seraphim - I agree about the recap eps... it's unnecessary but sometimes I understand more of the plot from watching them lol.
The 4th DVD will be released on Jan 27th ~ MY bday XD! Cool present! Hehehe! Just two more eps left 44+45. =x

why couldn't finding Taiki be resolved sooner? I'm going to cry.. I need to find the novels now then... Isn't Taiki such a beautiful Kirin?

question. spoiler sort of: in Japan, episode 15..why did Sanshi demand to know if Yuka was an enemy of the 'emperor' and not 'Saiho'? weird eh..? I need to watch more..but I'm at episode 26, and nothing much more on Taiki..

Isn't it when a shadow that kinda looks like sanshi asks Sugimoto if she was an enemy of the emperor? I wonder why she said emperor... since sugimoto was going around asking about Taiki.
    I like Enki better~ hehe

it is Sanshi.. I'm to believe. Plus, you know how she treated Suzu when she tried to talk to Taiki? Sanshi hit her. Sanshi is going overboard with this protecting crap.

    I found this site: http://welcome.to/animepick

since I've only seen up to episode 26 so far. I'm not sure if the anime goes through why Taiki disappeared..I understand why Taiki is the way he is now.(present)

    Nah... They don't say much about Taiki later on. Just focus on Youko and then later the Kingdom of En - which is fascinating!! I love that arc...It's too bad they won't continue with the story of Enki. x___x;;
I came across that site like a few days ago with the translations, and also 12ktp's page... However, I can't seem to resolve to that site. >_<;; I wanted to join the forums but *sigh* no can do. All I can do is just chat in their own chan. lol or aim.
It's interesting to talk to Juuni Kokki fans. Interesting discussions come up. I'm now watching the whole series again and will watch it a third time when I get all dvds lol.
It's also good that the Media Blasters translators is trying his/her best to get the best translations in order to show the greatness of this anime. Read the translator's note in DVD vol 3.
    --------------
Yah, Sanshi is a bit paranoid lol.

Edit: Oh Seraphim, did you see the thing I posted in the Tsukihime thread about the anime's ending?

those people are stupid. I found the whole story about Taiki very interesting. I found it probably more interesting to know what would happen to Sukimoto with Taiki as well and if he'd ever go back. cuz like Sukimoto was saying her story was just beginning. to like even have them animate all that and Taiki when he was little is now, for me a waste of animation since they dont continue. I'm still puzzled why Sukimoto called him 'Kouri' when she first met him since I cant remember how she would know the special name the Emp of En gave him?

Dang... and I'm still stuck somewhere in the Taiki arc. What was the last episode we saw, MO (in April?)

I'm still hoping they'll continue, but as this news came well after I thought they started again in July, well...
