  1. Isao Tomita Mailing List - http://listen.to/tomita/

    Hi All,

Can't wait for that big concert on April 1st next year ...
I'll probably be flying over in my personal Lear Jet ...

I made an interesting find today when looking through my old 45's.
I have a Keyboard Magazine Soundpage (one of those plastic insert records)
    from August 1985:

    Isao Tomita
    "Cranes In Their Nest"
Arranged, performed, and produced on synthesizer by Isao Tomita.
    (with Goro Yamasuchi on shakuhachi).

Does anyone know anything more about this title?
    Has it been released elsewhere?

    Regards,
    Lance.

Lance - I too am greatly excited about the concert next year! I can't wait!
I sure hope they figure out a way to have those jets tow "air speakers"
    through
the grand canyon at 600+ miles per hour. I've heard the "new" towable
jet-speakers (tm) also compensate for the doppler effect. They only weigh
    about
50 pounds each, and yet they can deliver 15,000 watts of power. WOW! I'm
    also
excited about the incredible fireworks presentation - all 1,175,000 tons of
    it.
Should be QUITE spectacular to be sure.

---> ANYWAY, I would be REAL interested in hearing what the record sounds
    like.
Any chance you could make an MP3 out of it?

    Thanks,

It's on "Mind of the Universe". (released 1985)

I sort of remember Goro Yamaguchi, the famous shakuhachi player died recently.

I hear Yanni might try to combine forces with the John Tesh and try to
crash that April 1, 2001 concert.

    Hi John,

I had a listen and checked the magazine.
It is the same recording (ie the live concert) as is on the Live at Linz CD.
The only difference is that there are lots of pops and crackles!

    Regards,
    Lance.

But, to rub it in, it was performed live at "Back To the Earth" but
wasn't re-released on that album (as were some other tracks)

So I saw them play live at "Back To the Earth"

...and while you needed no tickets to attend :)

I am one of the few people with a signed and dated program booklet
