Square Enix International Version Games

    What with Square-Enix making international versions of their games, and then are sold only in japan, with no trasulated version for us in europe? FF-X, Kingdom Hearts, and FFX-2 all have international versions. I just check out FFX-2 international, it seems that there are extra cool costumes! DARN! :sad: :sad: :sad:

    One costume...and appearance by Shinra of FFVII fame. Actually, more like a Casino, with a guest spot of Vincent, supposedly.

    Also, they come with the english track included. So, if you want to switch voices, you can always do that.

    X-2 international also comes with a DVD that has all the movies in-game. So if you beat the game, and are too lazy to get 100%...you can view the ending without really doing much!

    And, Suzu, why not just get your PS2 modded? www.modchip.com is based in europe. ^_^

    Edit: Also, to be fair...the U.S. does not get those games either.

    I really got frustrated surfing FFX-2 international offcial site and seeing new features and costumes and I haven't got FFx-2 yet! IT'scoming out feb 20th...

    It's a marketing thing. Gamers are a lot more hardcore over there and will willingly buy multiple versions of the same game for nice new extras. A tougher sale overseas, though.

    I don't know about that. How many people do you know who own both an original and extended release of Fellowship of the Ring? Hell, I'm not even a big fan and I own both (although one WAS a gift). Same goes for the Matrix. I'd personally buy a special edition of a game I already own if it came with features I want. I bought Final Fantasy Chronicles on the day it came out just to get the Toriyama animations in Chrono Trigger. If an econ cheapskate like me would buy it, I'm sure someone else would.
    Seriously, though, they totally shouldn't call something "international" if it's only commercially-available in one country. That's kind of counter-definitive.

    To answer my own question :sweat2:

    After a little bit of research I finally come to understand that the international versions are actually ....games with English voice-overs and a couple of extras as Izzy and BMS explained! :)

    So the japanese go out there and buy an international version of the game, because of the ENGLISH voice overs! Plus my guess is that they wanted to see their characters speak english! Plus the extras, and english localization tweaks and modifications! :) Like the lip animation in 1000 words!

    The 1000 words FMV for the first Japanese release of FFx-2 didn't show Yuna and Lenne singing together. The scene was later modified for American/European/International version of the game... (This site has some screen shot of the Amereican/European release and the first Japanese one... if you want to see how the two scenes differ

    The word INTERNATIONAL is quite Deceiving!
    When square uses the term 'INTERNATIONAL' to describe its games, this means that the games are localized versions of the English "Dubbed" games. It doesn't mean that the game is sold world wide :sweat:

    Also, about 1000 no Kotoba and 1000 Words. The partial reason why they released two versions is that Koda and Jade went about singing the song radically differently. Jade had a lot of improv-soloing mixed in to hers. Kumi did not. I guess they tailor-made it to match the singer.

    Personally, as far as both songs go, I like Jade's better. She just puts much more into it. Koda Kumi is more of a all-out pop singer. Like, BoA, or Britney Spears. Much better when there's a 16-beat rythym.

    But, that's just me.

    Huh? Final Fantasy X-2 International+Last Mission is not an international version of Final Fantasy X-2. Its the sequal to Final Fantasy X-2. You can see if you look at the screenshots. Zanarkand was rebuilt and that wasn't in FFX-2. The international versions of the games are the original game with english voices and japanese subs.

    I believe Final Fantasy X-2 International+Last Mission is an international version of Final Fantasy X-2, because of this
    In this new mode, you can select any character Brother, Yuna, Paine, RIkku and start a quest going up a tower to find out what on the top. U can tame fiends as well! Again I got this information from a review from IGN.com.

    I might be wrong... since I haven't played the actual game... :D
    But if it were a sequel wouldn't square call the game FFX-3 ?
