I was just wondering if any of you anime buffs have heard anything about the new movie they're making from Interview w/ the Vampire.

Personally, I'm a HUGE fan of Anne Rice and her works (I run an AR fan site) and I was SO excited to hear that they're making the first book into an anime movie..

They've already done a lot of her vampire books into manga books, but now they're doing the movie, but I haven't heard of an official site or release date or anything..

All I know is (and this isn't entirely for sure) they're making it in Japan..

Anyone else know anything about it?

If your going by TVL (The Vampire Lestat) then, yes. The movie and the first IwtV book will be very different as far as Lestat goes. But, it was a correct portrayal of Lestat in Interview w/ the Vampire, it went along well w/ the Lestat of IwtV book.

I know it sounds strange, but for some reason Anne changed her mind about Lestat after she wrote IwtV, and made him into a hero throughout the rest of her books, while he was a sort of "bad" guy in the first book.

After IwtV, Lestat claims that Louis lied in his book and portrayed Lestat as a villain for some unknown reason, and that it wasn't true, ect. I don't know. She just did a complete 180 w/ Lestat's character after IwtV. So, the movie is just like the book (for the most part, there are a few changes) but, the character of Lestat, himself, changes after the book.

you're right i noticed that, too. in my opinion i would have rather read the books as if lestat was an evil villain. it would have been more interesting, but it was anne rice's choice since they're her books. oh well.
