I personally like both. The manga has good details and is purely, completely Takahashi-sempai, but the anime is in color and animated and has fun voice actors (I watch the fansubs, btw).

Can you go into any detail with the problems you had with the anime?

well first off the inuyasha anime is boring and has more talking and revolves more around kagome and inuyasha's love for each other. While the manga is gorey theres lots of fighting and less pointless "episodes".

I like both. But I do like anime better then manga just because you get to watch it. The anime is fine. I love the interaction between Kagome and Inu-Yasha. Plus if there wasn't it would be just another fighting anime with no story line. Lets go get the shards and not get involved. Nah I like it how it is.

Any "pointless" episodes in particular that you're thinking of? Because aside from the filler episodes (which run in the same vein as the canon episodes anyway), everything in the anime is from the manga.

Out of curiosity, how much of each have you seen/read?

I like both. The manga is the original story the way Rumiko Takahashi-sensei intended it but the anime has stuff that doesn't happen in the manga and it's cool and exciting. It all depends on your likes and dislikes. We all have different ones.

It's cool to also compare like in the manga they are parts that has Inuyasha and Kagome romance while the anime sometimes leaves them out but the filler episodes make up for it ^__^

I totally agree with Kogaraish How much have u read?????
    Or Watched for that matter!?
I've been into INu yasha for how every long it's been on cn which is over a year from what i've seen most of it's pretty correct! and it's a bit immature to be like that just because u don't get ur way! if there was just point less fighting then it would be anpther remake of dbz don't get me wrong i loved the first series but it's gotten a little out of hand. Any way back on task I think the manga' the bets because it stick to the original story line

::chuckles:: Seeing as the manga is the original storyline....

To answer your question, LiLIceKitten (though you quoted basher, not me, in your post), I've only read up through volume 5 of the manga, but I've seen up through 123 of the anime (124 once I've finished on the boards here), fansubbed. I've heard enough about the rest of the manga, though, and as soon as I've saved up some cash, I'm buying more of it.

well, i think that the manga is way better because it has more blood and heads comming off and stuff . . . anyway, the t.v. version is just . . . lame. and plus, doesn't cartoon network play re runs over and over again? it gets really boring.

If you cannot wait for new shows then buy the japanese sub ones. It looks way better then the dub ones. I read some Manga online now mostly fansub ones. I like them the same. It almost follows the storyline exactly.

though i perfer the manga, i like the anime alot too. i have some of the fan-subbed eps. at home. i love them. but the manga is the real storyline, as kogarashi said, and its fun for me to compare the two.

They have to clean up the show for younger kids, even in Japan, yakamashi. They're just not as prudish in Japan as they are in America, so they can still have topless women and youkai being chopped up. Just not with all the blood and gore and details (like nipples). Beyond that, with the exception of several filler episodes (which are hard to pick out if you haven't read the manga) and a few manga stories that aren't in the anime, the anime fairly closely follows the manga storyline.

And yes, Cartoon Network does play reruns over and over again, but Viz hasn't released much beyond what CN has shown, so it's very likely that the later episodes haven't been dubbed yet. I also don't know how far Viz has licensed. If you're that impatient, download the fansubs, or buy yourself the Japanese dvds (horribly overpriced, worse than Viz) and a DVD player capable of playing Region 2 dvds. Otherwise, just be patient and wait for Viz and CN to show more.

Or buy the bootlegs, but I don't recommend that.

So how does the anime get really boring? Are you one of those teenagers who thinks endless, mindless blood, guts, and gore is exciting, and a little actual character development isn't?

but when i went to japan over summer break this year, there were lots of little kids who were were reading the manga books with their parents and they don't mind. oh wait . . . never mind that . . .

but yeah kogarashi, blood and guts are . . . uh . . . "cool" i can't seem to think why most parents don't approve of it. i mean, my dads like totally in to it. sort of . . . :D

this is kinda off the subject but don't u think that it's sad that i missed the show when in japan? major bummer . . .

I'm sorry you think that blood, guts, and gore make a show. How much of the manga have you read?

I've only read a few manga volumes (but I've seen a lot of the anime) and I prefer the anime. I guess it's just my taste.. I really like the romance bits (but i dont really like shows that are JUST romance) so it's the perfect blend of action and romance... besides... I'd rather watch Miroku grope someone then read about it... it's just funnier! :anime:
