The purpose of this thread is a list of InuYasha's move names, translations, and descriptions.

Here's what I've discovered so far:

Zankontessou ("Soul-shattering Iron Claw"): InuYasha basically rips his opponent to shreads with his claws.

Kaze no Kizu ("The Wound of the Wind"): This move is performed via the Tessaiga. Whenever InuYasha's youki (aura) clashes with that of his opponent,a scar-shaped mark appears at the boundary of the two youki. InuYasha swings Tessaiga at that mark, and 4-5 energy waves stream towards his opponent. When InuYasha learns the Bakuryuuha,he also gains the ability to use the Kaze no Kizu whenever he wants (much to the dismay of Kagome and the others when he realizes it! :D :D)

Bakuryuuha ("Explosive Flowing Wave"): Supposedly Tessaiga's ultimate attack. An opponent's youki is ensnared in and absorbed by the Kaze no Kizu, which is then used to counterattack the opponent.

Finally, though this is not an attack move per se,it bears mentioning. Whenever InuYasha's life is endangered while he's not wielding the Tessaiga in battle, the seal on his youkai blood is broken, and he "transforms." Though the only physical difference is that his eyes turn red and he gets purple marks on his face like Sesshoumaru,he essentially becomes a berserker - fighting wildly, not knowing or caring who he hits. The only known ways to bring him back to his senses after the transformation are 1) to get him to somehow wield Tessaiga agian (Good luck! :sweat2: ) or 2) have Kagome "Osuwari" him.

InuYasha - stepping down from the lectern.

I was reading through the (translated) manga when I came across another one that I've only seen him use once (against Yura of the Hair): "Claws of blood" (don't know the Japanese,or if that's a correct translation). It seems to be a projectile version of the "Zankontessou," and visually looks like Kagura's "Kaze no Mai" (Wind Dance)

Yay, I found out that "Claws of blood" is called hejinntetsusou in Japanese.

I'm not that sure if that's how you spell it though.:p

"Claws of blood" can also be "Blade of blood" when it comes to the translated anime version.

Yes, but we have to remember that Viz has a tendency to be stupid about some translation and transliteration that they do. And they can't use archaic English to save their lives. *shudders at Kaede's dub voice acting*

Well, despite this being a two-year-old thread, I'll post a couple of corrections here for people just stumbling in.

First, it's Sankon Tesshou, not Zankon. Hard "sa" sound, not soft "za."

Second, it's Hijin Kesshou. Listen carefully, and you can hear that "kess" instead of "tetsu."

    Hope this helps! ^_^

I didn't think Inu had fighting techniques, just fighting attacks... I've always thought that his technique was to attack head on until the enemy is defeated...

That's only one definition of technique, Shiryuu. In this case, we're referring to the body of specialized procedures and methods used in any specific field or any method used to accomplish something.

Specialized moves, like Kaze no Kizu and other attacks Inuyasha uses, fall into the category of techniques. He uses different techniques to accomplish his goal, which is to win the battle. His overall style is to (generally) attack head-on until the enemy is defeated.
