Eirtaku Irish Anime company

I've been thinking for sometime now about leaving my colloge course in Carlow to start a new course in animation.
I have a big plan to focus my efferts on anime and if things were to work out as i planed then i would start up my own company in Ireland that speicalises in anime and manga. So i would hope to be able to bring more anime and manga gear into the country cause there sure as hell isn't enough at the moment.
I know that it sounds a little far fetched at the moment but this plan is still in the developing stages.
Hey if i don't set up the anime company then i'll work on bringing more stuff into the country anyway.

What do you think? Sounds like a good plan to me don't you?

(To the admineistrater - I didn't know weather to pur this in the anime section or the Eirtaku. I thought that it would go better here since this would best suit the Irish people)

So you want to start up a distribution company rahter than an animation studio? That doesn't seem to be too far fetched all you'd need to do is buy the rights to some obscure anime and fansub it then put it on your own dvd production line it'd be expensive but not impossible.

 

and convince people to buy the dvds rather than get the fansubs...

 

I think that advertising would be a big part of my battle plan.

 

Hmmmm..... Well you'd need good IP first mind you the world of stealth advertising is a good one you know billboards with anime eyes on em but no description of the product then one day bang you reveal it and people become interested.....

You can do an animation course alright. But not an anime one.
What i mean is if i do the animation course is that i'll focus on anime and use that through out the course.

 

would you need that to start an anime release company though?

 

I'll figure something out once i get this little idea of mine of the ground.

 

I know some anime fans in ballfermot college doin animation...I think a lot of them out there focus on anime...if thats any help.

 

I'm doin' graphic design...obviously I'd like to get involved in the anime/manga world. Setting up a company would take a lot of effort, but nothing's impossible, right?

 

Right but first i have to figure out what i'm doing first. And that can take some time in itself.
