I love FF8. It was the first FF that I was able to finish. I had FF7 before I had 8. Sephy always played dirty and KOed my characters, so I never was able to finish FF7. Along with my FF7 package came a demo disk of ff8. Since the graphics were like WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! I decided to buy the game. I think i began to understand FF game when I played 8. It was like a "a guide to beginners for ff games" and then I tried to finish off 7 and I was able to do so.

Sure ff8 was not a challenge at all, but I LOVE the story. I find it fascinating!

A runner up to Izzy's explanation:

Now the Holy Wars are tough cookies to get, but there is a way to get a 100 of them. First of all you need Quezacotl (Not quite hard that one) with the Card Modification Ability.
Then through the game, keep as many Summon/Player cards as possible (i modified The Sacred and Minotaur Cards myself, because i didn't bother to keep fighting those Tortoise ppl..since they carried the Adamantine, which is necessary for some Ultimate Weapons....Anyhow, When you've got the ragnarok, you have to fight the CC Card Group. The CC Group is a group of seven elite card players in Balamb Garden. If you can beat them all, you can get the Gilgamesh Card and other nice cards. This becomes available in Disc 3. You must challenge them from the lowest ranking up to the highest.
#1: Jack :: Is in the hallway near the directory. Has no rare cards.
#2: Club :: In the hallway near entrance to cafeteria. Appears randomly and not often. Has no rare cards.
#3: Diamond :: In front of directory. Diamond is actually a pair of female SeeD cadets. They have no rare cards.
#4: Spade :: On floor 2F next to elevator. Spade is one of the two people that usually hang out on this floor. Has no rare cards.
#5: Heart :: On the bridge. Heart is actually Xu! She has the Carbuncle card.
#6: Joker :: Inside the Training Center. Appears randomly and not easy to find. Has Leviathan card.
#7: King :: To find King, speak with Nida on the bridge, then visit the Infirmary and challenge Dr. Kadowaki to a game. Kadowaki hints about the "King". Return to your dorm room and King will appear in the room (Which is actually Quistis). She has the Gilgamesh card (That you modify into a 100 Holy War Trials.
More Info: To start challenging the CC Group, you must first build up your reputation in Balamb Garden as a card player. To do so you may have to win about 15 games around Garden.

    There!

To FURTHER expand on Kenshin's little shtick, Holy Wars Trials have about a 30% chance of failing and not doing anything. You can rectify this by modding those with...med lvl up, or one of those item abilities to make 10 Holy Wars. Now, I know that it may seem like a great deal of work for some people, but, it's the only way to get a 100% chance of becoming invincible using a Holy War. :D Personally, I always used two of the party to heal, and keep at least Squall in invincibility and aura.

My team is usually Squall, Rinoa, and whoever else...though if I'm feeling REALLY cheap...feed an aura to Zell who's in the red and pump his stats up to 255 str and do the Apocalypse Rush! If it's not Zell, just keep the pressure on with Squall, and keep everyone else as healed as possible, so Squall has support to keep him in the red to get his Lionheart out.

To do so, start his limit and do the punch rush or booya. So, basically, just keep doing left->right or O->X as long as the time limit is allowed, and you'll more than likely kill him if you have a full 12 second turn and rather fast reflexes. :D

Hey thanks. I defeated OW by having Squall near death and keep on feeding him Hero drinks. I use Zell too with his punch rush/booya combo. It still wasn't easy though. Plus he has that one move were all of your party gets killed.

And after what I thought was hours of battle, you get nothing but that ****** "Proof of Omega". Like, who cares!?! ^_^

PS Another question. What do you get if you complete all of the cards? I got all of them except those in the "Queen of Cards" side-quest (If I remember it's Irvine, fat chocobo, Kiros, etc.) . Is collecting all the cards worth it?

Not really. Certain cards are useful though. I've never finished the card quests myself, but I was close to being done. Had two or something cards to go. I hated keeping the rules I wanted, too much of a time drainer!

Oh, and it's ur bday right? Happy Birthday man.

Yeah keeping only the rules you wanted was quite tiresome. It gets hard when the "Same" rule is applied (I forgot the others). It was real fun to play though. And I loved the BG music. ^^

Yep it is my bday. Thanks.:D
