The more I'm on baords, the more I realize that everyone has picked up one similar habit. They seem to think leaving their name at the end of their post works to show that it was them who posted it...

Erm, note to self and others...We know it was you, so is there really a need to do it again? Probally not...

Well, now I'm going to start doing so just to make a point. If it matters, and it helps my karma rating, then I'll do it more often. If I look more professional then I'll keep with it, and ect. BUT if it makes no difference, then I'll stop.

    See you in a while,
    Lucky

Is this for a friednly argument? If so, I dont know why you would complain to someone about signing their names at the bottom. If they do it, oh well!
Yes, It does look more proper, and thats why i do it. I just dont know how anyone could consider this habit annoying. Its there..dont like it!? Dont read it. Its at the end so its preety easy to skip.

Oh yeah, and..er...congrats on just starting to sign your name!?

    - Kaiyon <----Its there, and it will stay there. Skip it or read it! ^_^

There were days when it was not only the name, but a clever phrase afterwards, too. Sometimes, I wish I had been here for those days.

Shinryu - Just look through BakaMattSu's old posts. He was the posterboy for the whole thing. :p

Yeah I think it was Baka who started it. And other mods like Ark did aswell. And it slowly progressed.

I don't have a problem with it. I don't think that its really nessary but its your own choice to do what you do.

The only time I ever find myself doing so is when I might try to prove a point or make something more personal, or maybe for some closure. For example I ussually do put a "-Jaken" at the end of my PM messages.

Yeah, at the end of PM's, I put "Lucky" or "Kat Lucky" But only because I think of pm's more as letters, and not as private posts.

    Yadda yadda yadda,

I think it's good for you to put your name at the end your post/pms/etc. because it's basic netiquette.

I haven't gotten the hang of it yet.

No offence lucky. Heh. But I dont know if saying swanky remarks and then signing your name is the same as "-Lucky" To me it sounds less mature. And they are definatly more something you put in a letter. But its your own twist i guess. ;)

I agree with Jaken. I don't see the necessity of doing so either but, to each his own.

quietstorm007 (might as well go along with it too ^_^;)

I don't even really take notice of it, some people do some people don't. I don't do it on my regular posts but i'll sign pms "Kain" to people who take the time to pm me, and put my real name "Brian" in pms to people i know a lot more and also in my blog. Don't know why i just feel like it, didn't even think that it bothered people that much to be honest.

You dont know the half of it.

And now it does look annyoing when the trend started to spread around and its seen everywhere. I thought that about not many people did it. But who i DO know did it when i first got here was Shen, Teddz and Zanza...and thats because they posted frequent and it was more noticable.
Is this what the thread's on? Who started it? who thinks its annoying or who thinks its cool? Whiich one?

I think it is just being polite, some people don't consider the automatic signature and add another one in the end of the post.

    Both styles are fine.

Well, let me put this politely...
I'm doing it to see whether it makes a difference or not. As for why I care, I can't say...Not much else for me to do I suppose. Does that bother you?

Personally, I don't care. It's there, it was done by a few people, it doesn't really matter. I don't see any purpose in it, but I don't see any reason to complain about those that do it until they stop. As has been said, perhaps it's just a formality, or perhaps it's a kind of automatic thing.

Regardless, it's not really that big of an issue. I don't do it myself, and most of the people here don't do it either, but as far as I know, there's only been two people who it's bothered enough to complain about it.

I really don't think it's something to make a big fuss about.
