Inu-Yasha Is Kouga a Ryouga clone?

For those of you who don't know,Kouga is a character in Rumiko Takahashi's latest anime series InuYasha. After reading his character description here,and hearing/reading about how Ryouga of Ranma 1/2 fame is portrayed,I began to wonder if they were one and the same. I'd like to get your opinion on the matter.

So:

Is Kouga a Ryouga clone?!

InuYasha - starting the new debate in the hopes that it'll promote an InuYasha forum...

 

Having never seen Kouga in action, I can't really vote, but based on the description, I have to say probably not. Would you have called Hitler and Mussilini clones because they were both fascists? Would you call Jerry Springer and Bob Barker clones because they're both TV show hosts?

 

I think I'd rather say that instead of Kouga being Ryouga's [Ranma] clone, Takahashi-sensei based Kouga on Ryouga.

Like they share similar personality traits, etc. But I don't think she [Takahashi] ripped off her own character...

 

I think that any similarities are just simply stylistic. It is natural that an artist would have an inclination toward using a certain type of character that maybe they relate to in some way, but if you watch them both they are definately not cookie cutter-carbon coppies of one another.

They fill a similar role of vying with the hero for the girl, and they've both got headbands and they they are both aggressive and capable, although not as capable as the hero. Demo.

Kouga tells Kagome that she is his woman and he loves her within a day of meeting her and in public. Ryouga is painfully shy with Akane.
Kouga never gets lost.

they dont have the same personality..& just like what Vash said Ryouga is painfully shy with Akane but Kouga never gets lost with Kagome...
the only similarity between them is that they both love the heero's girl...
