I have looked into a lot of animes... and have found that a good majority of the shows... have 26 episodes... Isnt it weird how that works out??? Tell me what you think

26 episodes is indeed the standard length of a season in Japan. The thing is, there are also plenty of series that are designed to only take up part of a season, like Pretear or Aquarian Age (both 13 episode series).

If a series is popular enough, it will continue on for more than a single season. This is how you get longer series like DBZ and Detective Conan (around episode 320 now in Japan). Also, sometimes the story is designed to take up more than a standard series length.

On the other hand, if a series isn't popular enough it will often be cut short. This was the case for Flame of Recca; Japanese audiences said it was too much like Yuu Yuu Hakusho. Apparently it was also the case for Escaflowne, which is why the ending to the series feels much more rushed and quickly thrown together.

So yeah, it isn't all that weird that most series are around 26 episodes in length.
