It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

Here comes the cold again, sweeping its chilly hand across the country. As far as the Great White North of Canada goes, I understand we get off easy in Ontario - move out towards Alberta and you get the real freezing winters.

Still, I'm Ontario born and raised, so I'm used to the temperatures here and can tell when winter sweeps in. Last week it was snowing. It's held off since then, but things can't be far off. In fact, yikes, we're halfway through November with December closing in - and I haven't set up even one Christmas gift yet.

Christmas shopping has got to be one of the hardest things for me to do in my life. Mainly because I have absolutely no patience for shopping. When I need something, I buy it - short and simple. Into the store, get it, get out. "Browsing" is my veiled "please leave me alone" response to the store staff who approach me with a "Can I help you?" Yes, you can help me by not impeding my progress - All I intend to do is get in and out.

Which, of course, is where shopping for others gets difficult. I mean, when I'm shopping for me, I know exactly what to get. And I absolutely hate resorting to the "what would you like for a gift?" asking. If you're just going to get the answer from them, what's the real point of even wrapping? It ruins the whole spirit of the surprise. And those I can shop for are the ones where I have too many ideas for gifts and need to choose. I wish I could just get a more even dispersement.

Ah well, guess it's time to scour the malls and Amazon in hopes that "special something" will by chance pop out at me. ^^

 

lol .. when I shop for others. Like I've been doing recently, about half the stuff is for me. I mean, add it on the shipping is roughly the same o.0. Then I've been wishing.. why won't people shop for me the same way I shop for them??? Why don't they know or care to know what I'd like? so until then I'll shop for myself I guess. oh well.
