Here I will post what I have done. Yeah I have. You are welcome to post others.

Basher has been on the internet to long when

She closes phone conversations with I am logging off.

She wants an ignore or ban user feature.

She refers to WoW players by their online name. It gets stranger when they responded.

She asks someone do they play WoW. They responded no. She says why are we still talking?

She had said LOL instead of laughing. :sweat2:

 

So is this thread all about Basher?

Not to be rude, but it's kind of too limited.

I'd think it'd be better to name this thread "I've been too long in the internet when...", so each of us could post about ourselves, and maybe about others.

As for some of those things, you don't have to be too much online to name a person by their online name. I always did it.^^

Actually I am tired of those threads where people post from other sites. If we wanted a laugh users can easily search for one.

Seriously though I think it kinda goes without saying that I do.

But in any case I've been on the internet too long...

...when you have more friends online than offline. (>100:1, hmm...)
...when your idea of a "night out" is joining a new forum
...when the only dates you get are with a folder full of images
...of animated women
...when your girlfriend lives a thousand miles away (I know mine does! )
...when you cry over being banned from a favorite site (Yeah, I did...)
...when your depression over being banned makes you physically ill (Did that, too...)
...when wake up with qwertitis... every day. (think- keyboard face)

About all I can think of for now

 

I've been on the internet too long when...

...conversations with friends are conducted almost entirely through bebo/myspace intead of the good old phone.
...the time spent messing on boards and aforementioned bebo/myspace takes over the time that used to be spent bumming around and watching telly. I don't follow even one tv show anymore.
...the phone bill costs a small fortune.

All I can come up with at the moment, in the past I could have thought of more but it seems that the internet has made me somewhat dumber than I once was... Yep, that's far too much time being spent online...

Well most of you all have stole my "I know I've been on the computer too much" lists. But here your in luck.

1. I am on the computer so much that many people online know more about me than some of my friends. (not many ppl can tell I have ADD or that im random at my school, but you pick right up...)

2. Most of my conversations at school consist on what I found or did online the previous evening.

3. I look at the clock and wonder what happened in the last 3 hours, and why is my food cold?

4. The basic using words like: LOL, ZeetOMG, /do homework, and TTLY in conversation.

I know i've been on way too long when instead of grabbing the phone, i get on skype to dial my friend that lives right around the corner to see what they are up to.

I say brb irl. lolz too . ie "that's the lolz" wtf etc etc

I prefer playing solitare on computer and uno online rather than taking out the real deck of cards .

My flate mate and I both email each other instead of waiting till we see each other to chat... oh that is lame.

 

I know when I've been online too long when,
1-like everyone said, I have more friends online than offline
2-I dream about the perfect forum for me
3-I got on BJP at school instead of doing my school work
4-When I'd rather be online talking to people than, sitting on the phone
Well I can't really think of any thing else so ttyl

 

When even my real life friends start calling me Jackabee.

When I know more about some of the people here than I do about my room mate.

When I can't remember which password goes for what screen name at what website.

When my to do list consist of which sites I need to visit for the day.

When my friends know that the best way to check on how I'm doing is to look at my blogs. (and) I get upset that they haven't checked my blogs.

Of course the very fact that I have to specify real life friends is kinda disturbing.

I just did another one.

I have been on the internet to long when I pressed the middle mouse button key before talking on the telephone.

My Vent for WoW uses the middle button. I told my sister I needed to go to bed.

I want to /rude someone later.

 

When I tell my brother to "STFU AND GTFO!"

And then it takes him several moments to understand wtf I meant.

When my art teacher gives me self evaluation sheets, and to show her a comment I wrote was not malicious, and that it was said out of confusion or something I write "" or "^^;;;;"

When, rather than just watching my friends do stupid things, I watch strangers on youtube do stupid things.

When I exclaim out of nowhere "Oh this is so going into my livejournal."

When I figure out that over the course of the past year, I read more fanfiction than actual novels.

When I say use "pwn" in normal speech and then have to explain to my father what it means.

I don't just stop at using l-o-l! I also use "LAWLZ"!

When I say 'zOMG' as 'zemog' outloud (don't ask me how I get 'zemog' out of 'zOMG'...)

When i scream at a potential yaoi moment in an anime (or any romantic moment in any medium) "OTP!!!"

When i use OTP in converstation.

When me and my RL friends spend more time together on Gaia than in real life. XDDD

When me and my RL friends no lonmger spend real money on Christmas or birthday gifts, but rather just buy me each other stuff on Gaia. XD

When i don't buy CDs anymore. XDDD (actually, I never bought CDs much in the first place, but this one had to be said)

When me and my friends pass notes in class and I intentionally write "Liek, omg, ttly!!!!11!! :D" in the traditional mocking-of-chat-speak fashion.

When I ask people if they like Mudkipz. ("SO I HERAD U LIEKZ MUDKIPZ")

When I seriously tell a girl to name her new cat "Pedocat".

Then get into a converstation with a guy who says "if you're gonna use memes, might as well use Longcat." to which I reply "Could've been worse. i could've suggested Mudkip or Cat-desu."

Obviously, when internet memes follow you into RL.

When i get RECOGNIZED by random people online who've either seen my name else where or realized "OMG THERE'S THAT GIRL WHO WRITES THE FICS I LIKE!!" and then get hunted down on whatever site they recognized me on. XD

Whe there's drawings or stories I would never show to my RL friends, yet shamelessly post on the interwebz.

When i refer to it as the interwebz in converstation.

When, as I'm watching a scene on TV, i say "dude, I wonder if I can find that scene on youtube, I wnana post it to my livejournal!"


Anything else, most of you guys have already said.
