Music Jars of Clay

This band is really awesome!! they are a Christian Rock band and have made a tonne of great songs like Flood, Love Song for a Saviour and others. has anyone here heard of them? (I know a couple people here who have ) and what do you think of them?

...I think I've heard that before. I think a nun at my church likes their songs and they played them like on her birthday.
It was okay, but it'll never replace Merodies of Rife as my favorite song.

 

All I've heard is Flood, but it's a great song. It's not necessarily a Christian song either. As with much of music, it depends on how you look at it.

 

Ohhh! Jars of Clay! One of my favorite bands these days. I absolutely love Flood... but my favorite track is the first one on theire self-titled album (the name of which eludes me now X_x).

Does anyone have their second album called "Much Afraid"?

Oh I really like Flood and Fade to Grey I'm not sure of the song you're talking about though I have Much Afraid around somewhere but I think my older sister has it right now...(or is it her cd @_@x)

On the subject of Christian rock, a quick tangent here.

I heard that a friend of my sister's in Windsor, Ontario used to be in a Christian metal band! Anybody know of any more of this stuff?

 

I liked that music like i said, but I have no memory at all for any of the titles of their songs. I like that one that has to do with clouds...ah, what's it called?

youve never heard of POD?!? i'm so sorry. their newest single is youth of a nation and the second newest is "alive" im sure youve heard it before "iiii i feel so alive... for the very first time... i cant deny You i feel so alive... iiiiii i feel so alive... for the very first time and i think i can fly..." anyway theyre like Christian rock and VERY cool in my opinion. anybody else heard of them?

 

I should really look into POD, I may have heard some of there music in one of the wow albums. Another one of my favourite Christian Rock bands is Creed!!! ^_^!!

 

yah buddy!!! how could i forget creed!!! THEY ROCK! it's even cooler that they are so big and stuff; makes their message spread to lots more people. ^.^ i cant believe i forgot about them!

here's an interview with Creed, they say that they don't consider themselves Christian rock really...but that doesn't mean they aren't moral


I guess it just depends on your perspective of their lyrics, My Sacrifice could be about the life of Jesus and how He sacrificed himself for all of humanity. Either that or a person's life finding Jesus... Or some may take it into their perspective and see it as a person finding their love of their life...

If you're going to go all contextual on me, I could argue that Kid Rock is Christian rock because he has a song called The Lonely Road of Faith and Only God Knows Why. Or Thank You by Dido could be Christian (although I'm actually serious about that one) ...
I guess everything is just in how you look at it, ya?

hey that guy! its cool you used that song-i never really thought of the words too much lol i knew higher and their older ones but i hadnt really paid attention to the new lyrics. it really does work with Jesus Christ which is really cool ^.^ i just had to share how much i liked that post thx that guy!!! and to gnz very true everything is just how you look at which can sometimes be really confusing!!:dizzy2: or maybe its just me... oh well

You are right though GNZ, a lot of these songs when put into context could mean different things to different people.

 

Well, I'm not arguing or anything. I know P.O.D.'s a Christian band (I listened to Alive's lyrics), but Creed has in the past denied being a Christian band. If they say they're not, then I have to believe them.
