Neon Genesis Evangelion Just one question.....

How is it, that in the End of Evangelion movie....and a friend told me this....that Shinji could choke Asuka.....and she returns at the end of the movie.....:glazed2: This is what she told me, havent seen it yet......

 

Why would Shinji want to kill her anyways? She is his on his side, even if she may annoy him at times.

 

i figured it was the whole 'alone' thing too. she made him feel most alive, even tho it was through negativity and saying how lousy he is. moreso than anybody else, she makes him go through the most feelings and emotions and all that jazz. shinjis also kidna dependant, and seems to need her...not completely sure why tho, heh.

but like izzy said, damn near everbody and everything in that movie was kinda screwed up. and by the time you get to that point you have to dig through a slough of philosphy and social behavior to explain things for everybody...too much thinking :glazed:

what was so confusing? it just views humans existance in both a darwinistic and religous point of view. Humans and the angels were the same in the sense that they were gods creations and the merging with Rei was in a sense the iphifany of human happiness, being one with a higher being, not having to be alone. But even in happiness we are un-happy, thus senji eats the apple so to speak, thus a new adam and eve are chosen. Thus it all would happen again. Senji realises this and was going to kill Asuka, but he couldn't bear to be alone, he was too weak for it. Thus is the reason for Asuka's last words, the closing words of the whole series, as she looks upon the sniveling being that is MAN, "How disgusting." The end served to show us the trueths of this life, the brave and nobel die painfull, the future is in the hands of cowards too afraid to face it, and the greatest monster we will ever face will be ourselves.
