Inu-Yasha Kagome and Kikyo

What do you think Kagome and Kikyo think of each other?

I think Kikyo is alittle envious of Kagome. Kagome is the woman Kikyo wanted to be. Kagome is the one changing Inuyasha and that's what Kikyo wanted to do. I dont think she hates Kagome but she's not overly fond of her either.

The same goes for Kagome. She doesn't hate Kikyo but seems to be(Forgive me for saying this Kagome's Arrow) alittle jealous of Kikyo because of Inuyasha. She also seems to feel inferior to Kikyo since Inuyasha often compares them, but Im pretty much stating the obvious.

I think in a way they both envy each other.

I'm inclined to agree with you that both Kagome and Kikyo are slightly envious of each other.

In regards to Kagome's feelings towards Kikyo, it's rather obvious that she often feels inferior to the dead miko, in regards to both Inuyasha's opinions of her and her own capabilities. While not directly criticized, she's constantly being compared to Kikyo whether by Inuyasha, her enemies, or the village citizens themselves.

While her feelings for Kikyo certainly can't be classified as pure hatred, she obviously feels quite a bit of resentment and envy. Initially this only because of her relationship in regards to Inuyasha, creating the classic "love triangle" element.

After Kikyo's ressurection, Kagome doesn't much seem to notice or care about Kikyo's situation, who she assumes has finally been put to rest (possibly because she was unconcious at the time). This is also when Kagome initially discovers Kikyo and Inuyasha's past relationship, and the information doesn't seem to bother her a bit (though she, of course, feels sorrow for the both of them). Later, when we next encounter Kikyo, Kagome shows obvious signs of jealousy when seeing Kikyo and Inuyasha's bond, but she doesn't really seem to be overly torn up about it. After this incident she's as much as admitted to herself that she has feelings for him, but knows their relationship can't go any farther with Kikyo still "alive". In Kagome's mindset, that makes Kikyo a rival to her, a catalyst in her relationship to Inuyasha. While she could never go so far as to hate Kikyo (since she seems to have a general understanding of the emotional pain Kikyo's going through), she certainly isn't going to become Kikyo's new best friend.

Likewise, Kikyo obviously despises Kagome at first start, since Kagome is the picture of everything Kikyo lost, all the missed opportunities and adventures. Especially seeing as Kikyo's once kind and generous soul (at least at this point) is tainted by malice, she obviously doesn't feel much for Kagome, since she felt no remorse at attempting to kill her (not faulting Kikyo for that, however, just pointing it out).

At the climax of both relationships in regards to Inuyasha, Return to Where We First Met, both girls seem to realize that all claims on him need to be relinquished until he figures things out between the two of them. Kagome almost declares that she hates Kikyo, but after saying it realizes that she doesn't hate Kikyo at all, only the situation her ressurrection has placed the oth of them into. Kikyo, on the other hand, seems to almost respect the place Kagome holds in Inuyasha's heart, and while she won't give up on their relationship completely, she seems to understand that both parties need to back off (since they're working against a common enemy).

This seems to be a turning point in their relationship (Kagome and Kikyo's, I mean) since from this point on, neither girl seems to dislike the other quite as much as previously, and in fact, both girls have helped each other out on a number of occasions. After that whole "Kikyo and Kagome in a Cave" episode, I can't help but think that the girls not only feel inferiority (on Kag's side anyhow) and resentment toward one another, but also a bit of respect toward one another's abilities and character. (For any of you who've seen "Kagome's Instinctive Choice", this is proven immensely when Kagome, well I won't spoil it )

I think it would be cool to see Kagome and Kikyou working side by side.If Kagome has some power I wonder if Kikyou could show her how to use it like se does I think it would be cool to see Kagome fight more see has power but doesnt use it and she preety good with the bow I wish Kikyou would teach her some stuff that would be soo cool.

 

you know, i think that if kagome and kikyou work together, to me, they would be unstoppable. especially if they were to fight naraku!

Kagome reminds me Of betty because she always gets "dumped" by Inuyasha for Kikyo...

Wow in every post I have seen about InuYasha Characters you find a way to kill Kagome.
I think that if Kagome and Kikyou would would work toghter they would be unstoppable like Tsukino Usagi saidKikyou is very powerfull and she could teach Kagome and Oh boy I would hate to get in there way!!!

 

It's quite possible that Kagome, in fact, holds more power then Kikyo. In fact I have a hunch that that's a plausible scenario, I just think that at the moment Kagome is much too inexperienced to tap into her full storage of power. You see Kikyo was trained for most of her life to be the skilled marksman (markswoman?) she is today, not to mention the powerful priestess. Kagome's only been at it for a few months, and look how far she's come. I'll bet with the proper courses of rigorous training that Kikyo probably went to, Kagome might be able to surpass her incarnation in sheer power.

Again Yakamashi, though I must've said this three times by now, WHY should Kikyo kill Kagome? Here, chew on this for a minute.

Spoiler: Kikyo and Kagome

Not only has Kikyo saved Kagome's life (Tsubaki's Unrelenting Spell, she pulled her out of her fantasy), but Kagome has returned the favor by helping to pull a live Kikyo out of the treacherous cave. Then, awhile after Kikyo's final death (or so we all thought), Kagome found the corpse and actually brought it back to life AGAIN, which was certainly a selfless and noble cause, she'd just bought her rival another chance with Inuyasha.

So after everything that's occurred between them, I *highly* doubt Kikyo is going to attempt murdering Kagome, or vice versa though that scenario was even less likely to begin with.

Kagome is a very cool character on InuYasha Tho my fav is Kikyou I dont think Kagome should die.I dont think that InuYasha would kill Kagome I dont think Kikyou wants to kill Kagome.The only person that should be killed is you.(Yakamashi)

yeah but inuyasha almost killed kagome a couple of times when he was in the more youkai form. and about kikyo, screw that.

 

Perhaps you should re-watch the series, yakamashi, with a more open mind toward Kagome. Your hatred of her seems pretty irrational. Perhaps you could explain how you started hating her?

 

well, i watched the show over and over again and i also read the book from 1-36 and i still have the same hatred for her.

i'm really not sure why i dislike her that much but like i said, i just don't like how she acts.

 

other then jakotsu kikyou is my favorite character i know most people think shes psyco and she is....just a little though.She and Kagome could never be friends just for the fact that kikyou is psyco.I love the pre-dying kikyou i guess you could say but i like her post-dying too. :dizzy2:.......im confused

 

in episode 47 or 48, kagome seemed jealous or heartbroken because of the kikyo and inuyasha thing, and in the episode, in which everybody was hallucinating their worst fears, kikyo seemed jealous because, inuyasha said that he thinks he also has another person to protect. i dont think they will be friends, but i think they will respect each other, and their place in inuyashas heart twords the end of the series.
