Inu-Yasha Kagome & Shippo

Shippo views Kagome as a big sister, but is it possible that Shippo could have a crush on her as well? I mean, it's not uncommon for a child to have a crush on someone in their teens.

 

It is possible. Physically, Shippo and Kagome are around the same age, but since youkai age differently than humans do Shippo is mentally and emotionally about five years old. And a lot of Shippo's actions make more sense if you take them on the level of "little kid with a crush."

*stifles laughter* This remind me of a badly written fanfic I stumbled accross the other day involving Kagome dumping Inuyasha to mate with Shippo for absolutely no tangible reason, and then a slightly *excited* twelve year old girl trying to write a provacative lemon about the two, which caused me to do nothing but convulse on the floor in laughter. Normally I avoid lemons, but I honestly don't think that could've been counted as one, just because it was so ridiculous.

Shippo liking Kagome? I pondered that at one point, but then dismissed the thought because Shippo seems utterly comfortable hanging around, curling up with, and even bathing with Kagome. Most males of the Inuyasha cast (especially the little ones, you'd think) are typically shy and embarassed when pursuing romantic relationships with women, and if you consider the countless times Shippo has pushed Inuyasha in Kagome's direction without revealing even an ounce of jealousy - well - I just see their relationship as a brother/sister bond.

 

i guess he just thinks of her as big sister. but even i didn't have a problem when i went to the onsen... oh well. but it is possible that he has a childish crush on kagome though.

 

K.A. is right once again....I think that Shippou doesnt like Kagome in that kinnda way he really looks up to her as a sister I think he would be a little wierded out with him and Kagome doing anything..as Kagome's arrow stated when little kids or most poeple have a crush on somebody they dont get naked in front of them and lay in a bath if they are not going out or anything if Shippou was gping outr with Kagome I dont think it would work Kagome likes the guys who ignore her and are rude(Really think about it)shippou would probley annoy her and stuff with his attachment to her.

 

hmmm... no, theres definitely no crush! Shippo is just too little to experience that kind of emotion.

 

Actually Shippo's quite mature in that department for his age (as evidenced by Satsuki), but I still stand by my previous statement that Shippo only views Kagome as a sisterly figure, right down to the "manipulate sister into scolding brother" dynamic he often uses on Inuyasha ^_^

 

hmmm... i would call shippou anything but mature, by looking at the way he behaves he is rather immature
maybe he is mature enough to understand what happens between a man and a woman, but he is definitely too little to experience such emotions himself.

 

He's certainly heaps more mature then I probably was at age seven or eight (that's his approximate age, according to the Inuyasha character guide), and while I don't think his maturity has attained the degree it would require for him to consider a serious, meaningful relationship - he's certainly old enough for harmless crushes, as evidenced by Satsuki (See: The Stone Flower and Shippo's First Love). Besides, he can spout cunning witisicms toward Inuyasha at just about any scenario (usually in defense of Kagome or just out of boredom) which is a far cry from the customary "Let's play in the sandbox!" drivel kids roughly that age are normally prone to. Then again, you're expected to mature faster in feudal Japan (as evidenced by 14 year old Koharu's desired relationship with Miroku), but I'd still consider him fairly mature for someone who hasn't even reached the standing of pre-adolescent

 

I always thought that Kagome became sort of a surrogate mother for shippo. She was the one that got Inu Yasha to let him travel with them and she always protects Shippo from Inu Yasha and stuff. Sisterly, motherly...but not loverly! LOL. Kagome and Shippo TOGETHER kinda creeps me out

 

Shippo's Crushes

I think he sees her more as a mom, but not a crush. Like that girl in the episode,"The Stone Flower" or something was a crush, or the only surviver of the thunder clan. Those are crushes, but Kagome and Shippo? Not likely.

 

I think that shippo only thinks of Kagome as a big sister not as a girl he would have a crush on. They are more on the sister brother type friendship not a boyfriend girlfriend realtionship. Plus i don't think Shippo would tell out loud that he likes Kagome. Inuyasha might get a little mad and. . . .

And there would be no more Shippo. Exactly. He already has 2 girls who like him, I don't think he likes Kagome 'like that.'

 

To me personally I think he does like her, I mean in that one ep where they met miroku for the first time, he did want to go into the water with her when she took a bath, but thats just me. :sweat2:

 

If anything that inclines me to believe that Shippo only feels brotherly affection for Kagome, since he wasn't at all flustered by the idea of seeing her nude, as Inuyasha would've certainly been. And I'll reiterate: After all the instances involving Shippo nudging Inuyasha in Kagome's direction without revealing any signs of jealousy, I find the thought of Shippo feeling anything romantic for Kagome rather absurd.
