Inu-Yasha Kagome's Feelings.

After watching this show for a while now, I'm begging to question Kagome's true feelings for InuYasha. I know in the episode "Return to the Place When We First Met" that she said, "I love him," but I'm not sure if its a romantic love. She saved InuYasha a few times, yes, but does she really love him? Or is it just an ordinary teenage crush? This question comes to mind because for one, they bite each other's heads off, InuYasha is a jerk, and she is way too nice to Koga (who is also a jerk, but Kagome seems to punish InuYasha for being one). Does she have a crush on Koga or something? Does she love InuYasha at all?

 

I think so and that they fight to hide their feelings. But she can't quite decide if she likes the guy at school, InuYasha, or Koga.

Saving someone certainly doesn't constitute love, I'll give you that, as she's saved Miroku/Shippo/Sango on rare instances as well (particularly Shippo...), but I firmly believe that Kagome's feelings for Inuyasha surpass a measly teenaged crush.

For one thing, Kagome didn't instantly like him, rather she loathed him upon their initial meetings, which proves that she doesn't fancy him for his bishounen appearance. (Which is generally what half of "measly teenaged crushes" are based on nowadays...)

Two, Kagome's already experienced a fair share of teenaged crushes, as we're both aware she was developing them for Hojo prior to her voyage through Feudal Japan. Kagome's a smart girl, especially when it comes to emotions, and she would've recognized the familiar signs of "stupid teenaged crush" if that'd been the case regarding Inuyasha.

I think by about episode 20 or so Kagome was beginning to develop feelings for him, but they were in the earlier stages, so she might've mistook it for a "teenaged love interest" and try to eject it from herself. It worked, to a certain extent, because gradually those feelings escalated to something immeasurably stronger, something Kagome eventually admits is love.

This isn't really one of those topics that can be responded to well (regarding Kagome defense), because you can't exactly *prove* that she loves Inuyasha. It's just a feeling, and one characterized extremely well, so you can almost feel it alongside Kagome for yourself (at least personally ^_^), which is probably why I pity her to such an extent.

A classic Rumiko Takahashi romance dynamic, "endless bickering until they unknowingly fall for one another". Generally, these petty feuds eventually lead to a tender moment between the two, which is probably intentional.

Inuyasha *is* often percieved as a jerk, but he's definitely not one. Yes, he has some major personality quirks and a stubborn edge that needs serious curving, but Kagome saw through to the guy inside who was unfortunate enough to lose his family at such an impressionable age (and then get pinned to a tree by the only one who ever accepted him). Kagome may not be able to identify with him the way Kikyo did throughout her life, but I think she definitely understands him and loves him for the hardships he's overcome. Honestly, if Inuyasha got all "kissy kissy goo goo" whenever Kagome was involved, I don't think her feelings would've strengthened to such an immense degree. She could've stayed home and hung around Hojo for that.


Two parings everyone loves to taunt Kagome for which is idiotic since they're only partially plausible...

Kagome/Kouga: Kagome does NOT fancy Kouga, she's only as generous and sweet to him as she is because she considers him a friend. (Only Kagome would become friends with her kidnapper ^_^). She doesn't see him as an "inherantly evil guy who should be slashed through with Tetsusaiga", and she doesn't want to oversee his death without interferance. If it actually came down to choosing between Kouga's affections and Inuyasha's, we both know she'd choose Inuyasha's in a heartbeat. I think what Kagome really desires for Kouga is his happiness, but preferably with Ayame.

Kagome/Hojo: NOT HAPPENING. Kagome's never even expressed an interest in Hojo following about episode 20because she's beginning to accept her feelings for Inuyasha. Anyone who's seen episodes 137-139? I think it was....it doesn't matter, anyone who's seen the episodes involving Hojo's ancestors knows this for a fact. Kagome isn't even remotely interested in her pursuing schoolboy.

 

well, all i can say is that i think that kagome is really in love with inuyasha... she even thinks that they're a couple because in one of the books, she said something like, "okotteru kedo tsukiyatteru kara shouga nai na..." or something like that.

 

I still doubt if she really loves him... She doesn't seem to love him that much. I've never been in a relationship, so I'm not really familiar with the whole love thing. Plus, I'm skeptical about teenage relationships most of the time.

 

I doubt it's just a "crush" as some people would say. I think Kagome genuinely loves Inu yasha very deeply. I mean....they have been through so much together...and she's seen him transform before her very eyes (not only into a full demon...but a better half-demon/person in general).

There have been some very tender moments between them and it is my full belief that the two of them will end up together once the anime is all done.

 

Kagome likes Inuyasha. Plain. Simple. Although they hide their fellings for one another you can tell that Inuyasha likes Kagome and Kagome likes Inuyasha. Inuyasha tries to act like he doesn't like Kagome but he does. Kagome. You can tell she likes Inuyasha because you can see it in her eyes when she looks at him. Like I said before: Plain. Simple.

 

I think that Kagome doesn't exactly know what love is.....I have a feeling her feelings are a crush.....but she does say that she loves him, so I'm not sure......

I don't think they will end up together because Kagome doesn't belong in Inuyasha's time and neither does he.....It's true that they both have tender moments but I don't think it will work out. I have no problem with Kagome with Inuyasha's reincarnation though. I keep on saying that.
