GAH! i haven't been so dissapointed in an anime since spriggan. this anime is another brain-child of production IG and for all money it looked like a cross between blood the last vampire and samurai X. The art was supposed to look like soft watercolour and pastel paintings of the era it's set in. but what it looked like was crud. The art was basic at best with often no shading whatsoever and next to no colour at all.
The overuse of 3d cg just made it even more riduculous.
To top it off, the whole thing is so whitewashed with high contrast that a modern army convey could drive past and you wouldn't even see it. You just can't see anything!.

There's also little to no plot, and the bit there is, is confusing. When i got it i was dissapointed that it only went for 47 min, but it actually went for less than 40, and that was nothing but a blessing.
DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF CRUD!!!!!!.

I was planning to buy this anime, but now that you have told me how bad it is, I won't buy it. Thanks for the warning!

wow! it looked so good I was going to get it to buy too.. I'm so happy I didn't! I never heard of it before and saw it at the Future Shop..

is this the one about some girl training to get vengeance on someone?

and no wonder I never heard of it before...

yeah i had heard of it before. (but i thought i hadn't) i got a free dvd with the animatrix which had heaps of trailers. it was on there but it appeared as Kaidohmaru, and the dvd is Kia Doh Maru. i got fooled! .
it does look really good and thats what i was expecting. especially from production IG. They've never done anything but brilliant before. The art i was really looking forward to. the cover is nice art, but dull. i was expecting the real art to be a bit clearer but it was heaps worse.

its about a girl who flee's her home city and is trained by knights to be a samurai. but an old love. (a girl too. that bit had me confused) finds her again. (if the film had any logic she'd be dead, as she's impaled through the heart at the start:rolleyes: ). and she decides to take vengance on the knights, one of which has fallen in love with kiadohmaru.
it's great till the end of the opening credits. (4min in) the start animation is very raw, in black and white with a nice mix of 3d. and the music in the opening credits is beautiful. it's as good as the gits and jin-roh music. but after that it would be comically bad if i hadn't wasted money i don't have on it.
the end of the film is suitably terible, it's the most white-washed of all of it. it's just a white screen. i'm still trying to work out who dies in the final scenes and who doesn't.
it all only goes for 39 min and leaves you with severe eye strain from trying to see anything.

the 3d and 2d blending is so bad it just makes you want to cry.
spend your money on something worthwhile!.
