Anime Kai Doh Maru

Oh god.. I wasted 30 bucks on this movie on DVD, expecting it to be really something, but it was horrible!

The movie's plotline is rather hard to figure out (if I ahdn't had read the back of the DVD and the little info about it in the HMV book I wouldn't understand squat). it's about a girl named Kintoki that was raised to be a prince, but her uncle killed her family and yaddayadda. So she was saved and raised by a man named Raiko, who raised her to be a soldier. Then all this crap starts happening that involves Kintoki's cousin Ohni Hime (I think it's supposed to be 'Oni Hime' but whatever.) who's in love with her.

It's REALLY confusing. It was created by the makers of 'Blood: The last Vampire' and makes THAT, look like the greatest movie on earth. (Blood was a goos movie btw, I was just pissed off at the ending cause I expected more). You never really learn about why some things happened, like why that one guy suddenly switched sides, what Ohni Hime's powers actually are and blah blah blah.

And you'd expect nice beautiful art form it too, looking at the BEAUTIFUL cover. But nope, it was all done with computer animation. The background is nicely done in 3d, but the characters look horrible. And the blood! it was only one shade, a bright shade of red (normally blood is a darker red and has different shades... you get what I mean...). And when a guy was spitting out blood, it reminded me of when someone vomitts in South Park.

Over all, I didn't like this movie one bit. I'm gonna try and sell it so i can get a better DVD. Anyone wanna buy it for 30$ so a upset girl can go buy Arjuna instead? ^^; (jk)

Has anyone else seen this? Was anyone else as deeply disappointed as I was?

 

Tell me about it. This was crap. It's not worth the cardboard it's printed on.
I couldn't figure out wether or not the two kids were both girls or not. And the extras that come with it say that they are both girl's but in the film one is a boy and the other is a girl.

Ha! You were lucky! I couldn't even figure out who the hell they were and what they had to do with the story!

I wasted good Christmas gift money on that movie! And to think... I could've gotten Arjuna instead and be sitting and watching contently at Shoji Kawamori's works... (he created Escaflowne and the Macross series for those that don't know.)

And only 40 MINUTES!!! GRRRRRRR

 

lol. i started a thread about a fair while ago advising ppl not to get it. ^^. it's terrible isn't it...

 

Manga Entertanment should be bombed into the ground for this outrageous rip off. :anger2:

 

AH DAMN! I wish i had seen that earlier. ;_;
