Inu-Yasha kikyo!

I don't think that would work really. To me, anyway, Kikyo seems to be a little bit more...well. I don't know what a good word for it would be. I just don't think that Kikyo would EVER give up her life for anything to do with Kagome. Kagome, in my opinion, is the whole target for Kikyo's hate, not that she's gotten over dying and InuYasha supposedly betraying her. After all, Kagome is all that stands in the way of her and InuYasha being together.
Plus, as it states in the series, at least, she actually said that one of her biggest want's was to be able to live. That, she said, was a wish all deceased have. I don't think she'd easily give that up.

 

I don't think so. Kikyou's hate isn't towards all Kagome. If it was, she would have tried to kill her already. In fact, it's not hate, it's jealousy. I think her hatred goes towards Naraku mostly. She's still walking so she can get some justice for her death.

Do you just watch the anime or something?

 

First off, if I recall correctly from the Asian idea of reincarnation, you aren't exactly the same person. You don't remember your past lives, and while you share the same soul(s), you are a new person, living a new life. Kagome was born with Kikyo's soul, but it's growing and changing. It's...complicated, I guess.

But if Kikyo gave back the souls she originally got from Kagome (yes, from Kagome; watch the Urasue episodes again), Kagome still wouldn't remember a past life as Kikyo because those souls were originally in Kagome and she didn't remember any past life as Kikyo.

I think Shadowbard had a good explanation of why Kagome and Kikyo can be the same person and not at the same time, but I'm not sure exactly. Try asking her.

 

The Kikyou giving Kagome her soul/life doesn't solve anything. They are both two different people and have their own different personalities. It's the same thing as Kikyou and Kagome fusing together. It won't work because people like and dislike them both. They are two differen people even though they are the reincarnation/incarnation of each other.

It doesn't even solve any problems and I can't see how it can.

Oh Kikyo!

I've never really liked kikyou but i never truly hated her. Yeah there were times when i would be watching or reading the manga/anime and i would yell at Kikyou and wish her gone. However, I'm pretty sure that she is not leaving so soon. I also kind of, sorta, feel sorry for her and how she lost Inuyasha and is just walking the face of earth with no real motives at times. But yes, she had her time with Inuyasha and too bad if it didn't work out - because she needs to learn how to move on or she will never go to the other side completly.

 

I can't say that I hate Kikyo but I can't say that I like her either. All she is a wandering presitess( can't spell right now ) looking for something. Maybe even her own death.

 

I like Kikyou. Well actually she is my favorite character in the show. I like the fact that you don't really know what she is going to do.

I am guessing that the people who say- I hate Kikyou, I wish she would just die, don't really look into Kikyou.
Before Kikyou did die her last thoughts were, her lover had tryed killing her, and was only getting close to get the jewal from her. Even then Kikyou could bring her self to kill InuYasha. All Kikyou would have to have done is shoot InuYasha with an arrow and end of story. She did shoot him with an arrow, but didn't kill him. She placed a curse/spell over him and sealed him to a tree.
Then about 50 years later Kikyou is brought back to life by a witch. For all we know Kikyou could have been at peace. Then she comes to find out that InuYasha is broken free from the spell and her sister is friends with InuYasha and helping him. What would you think?
That isn't all for Kikyou, she comes to find out that it was Naraku's evil doing that killed her. ( That takes an open mind. You have though of something like the one who killed you and you saw that person with your own eyes, then you are told that it wasn't him, but someone else. She Kikyou does have a mind up there.)

What about the ones who say Kikyou is evil she tryed taking InuYasha to hell with her.
Well, yes she did do this. I don't think she did it out of hate though. I think she was doing it out of love, yes it doesn't sound like the most loving thing to do, but we really don't know what hell is in this story. How many times has Kikyou tryed doing this?? I don't think it is something of great value for reasons she should die.

If Kikyou really did hate Kagome why didn't she just kill her when she got the chanch alone with her? I can't remeber what episode it was, but it was the one were they were in the cave toghther stuck. I really don't think Kagome hates Kikyou either, Kagome could have just left Kikyou for dead and gotten rid of her.

Yes, I do think Kikyou still has some feelings for InuYasha, but I don't think she would try to kill Kagome for InuYasha. In the second movie Kikyou tells Kagome that she shouldn't be with him and pushes her down the well so she can't come back, then after she has been pushed she says she shouldn't be with him either for she is one with the dead. ( I don't think if the movies really play much into the show though.)

Kikyou does have a heart though. She helps people when ever she can. Even though she says she doesn't care for the living. I think in her heart she does.

ummmm :sweat2: Not to rain on all your parades but Kikyo Needs to intervene in the love affair of Inuyasha and Kagome because it would get along so good to easy it makes it more confusing to throw a dead or brought back from the dead girlfriend to make your life hellish besides without kikyo it would get dull.

 

If she was trying to get with InuYasha, it would kinnda set the show off. Kagome would always have to worry where InuYasha went or worry about Kikyou.
If Kikyou was to get in Kagome and InuYasha's relationship anymore, then it would take the attention away from the point of the show. They would always have to worry about Kikyou getting InuYasha alone. I don't think Kikyou would be much up for that. She has enough to worry about.

 

Well if I thought the guy I loved killed me nobody like me either believe me.

Kikyo really needs to get out of the picture. Her existence is futile and it means nothing. You would think Inuyasha would be over her by now, and im pretty sure he is but you cant tell.

 

I believe her existence is necessary. She plays an important role in the story. Being there, she makes the love triangle between her, Kagome and Inuyasha more exciting. Without her, Kagome wouldn't exist. Maybe she would, but she wouldn't hold the powers that she has now.

Part of the story would be boring without Kikyou playing a role.

 

Kikyo is definitely an essential addition to the cast, and the entire show would've lost some of its flavor (in addition to some of its fanbase) without her. She provides a catalyst to the Inuyasha/Kagome relationship, which I think is neccesary because, without that third dimension, Inuyasha and Kagome's blossoming romance wouldn't have captivated fans nearly as much. Additionally, Kikyo occasionally provokes Kagome (usually unintentionally, though) which results in a rare demonstration of Kagome's negative qualities. Without Kikyo, she'd be percieved as a variation of a Mary-Sue, and she definitely isn't. She's just more adept at restraining her negative urges then the majority of the cast.

But I *do* think that Kikyo's overstayed her welcome, so to speak. She's gone from being a plot device to plot dependant. She deserves closure, yes, but I think Kikyo's character would've maintained her intended impact upon the series if she'd remained dead after the whole cliff-plumetting-episode. (I would elaborate, but I'm too lazy to utilize the spoiler tags, and she's fallen off more cliffs then a professional hanglider anyway. You guys probably know which episode I'm referring to).

 

I agree, and I don't mind seeing Kikyou's beautiful presence in the series. Isn't it hard to fall off cliffs many times and not able to die?

Well, Heres MY opinion about her. O.k.

-She is lke, ALWAYS SO emotionless, dull and boring. But, then again, it's the rule of anime. She is definately continuing our anime tradition...

-I cant say I hate her, or like her. She is DEFINATELY not one of my most favourate characters. Since of her stupid and pathetic personallity. Her ranking on my favourates list has dropped a little. Now, she is getting in the way of Inu and Kags relationship, DROP... THEN, her stupid way of using souls as fuel has dropped her down way to the bottom.

-Hey, she is da gal who made the whole series really intresting, right??? Series that are like, SO PERFECT,NO TROUBLE can be very boring sometimes. so therefore, you should really THANK Kikyou for it.. (Dont get me wrong, I still sort of hate her!!)

-Duh, you cant of cource BLAME her for being dumb and hateful. She DIED this way, like she said, it's the hatred she has for INUYASHA that is keeping her alive... I mean, hey, the last thing she ever saw was INuyasha taking the jewel from her!!! DUH DUH

-SOULS ARE NOT TO BE USED AS FUEL!!!!! As a priestess, she is supposed to help and heal the world. But she is now acting like this big fat elephant blocking our precious circle of life.... In the series, we are to believe that when a person dies, the soul gets riencarnated and brought back to the earth into some other organism... (I love science) The whole reincarnating process is like our decomposers!! and without it, our aples wont rot and wont go back into our earth.... She is not helping, but destroying.

 

I dont like like Kikyou, I sypmathize with her...except for the being dead part. Shes not one to hate, but she's not in my good side either. She gets annoying.

yeah... kagome shouldn't exist in the first place though...

i mean, it's not really like she still likes inuyasha. she may have some feelings, but they aren't exactly love. it's more like inuyasha who's kinda chasing after her, but like kikyo, his feelings are starting to disappear.
