okay, quintin tarantino is one weird guy who i wouldnt want to meet in a dark alley, yet all his movies are fasinating. i mean, who cant laugh at someone dying in pulp fiction? and they all have a twisted quality that seems to draw you deeper into his head. he is the new tim burton, and i guess this makes me happy because i loved tim burton that much. ever seen nightmare before christmas? try watching it 64 times. i did, and i still enjoy it.

so, im happy to hear that kill bill is on dvd now. i didnt see it in theaters, so it'll be a new experience altoghther.

Part of me is tempted to pick up the two dvds now, part of me wants to wait for the Directors Edition release where its all just one long film and its uncut.

The collector in me will probably end up getting both. -_-

Both parts had a distinctive feel to them, yet I found the first far more enjoyable. Now, I'm odd, because I've never seen any other Tarantino film (no, not even Pulp), but I just kind of saw Kill Bill on a whim and ended up enjoying the ride. The movie is really just a hashing of so many other movies and movie styles, but it works out well in the end.

I was actually more empressed with the second film then the first, actually i found some parts of the socond film funny, i was the only person in the cinema laughing :D.
I think some people didn't like the second because there was less action in it, but i think that it was a good thing, since it allowed the movie to expand on what happened in the past and how they got to that point.
If i decide to but it, i might wait until the directors cut.

Ehh, comparing Tim Burton and Quentin Tarantino is like comparing David Fincher to Peter Jackson, or some such.. it just doesn't groove right along. Tim Burton's works seemed more dark and menacing while, while Quentin's are more adult with crude humor mixed in with long, almost philosophical observations made about silly things about the most unlikely people (Quentin Tarantino's character in the opening of Resevoir Dogs talking about the meaning of Madonna's song, Like A Virgin, or the characters of Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta comparing oral sex and a foot massage, not to mention the countless references comparing what could either be "chance/luck" or "an act of God/miracle"), tied in with mass amounts of swearing, profanity and plenty of blood to go around. They just don't fit together, in the least.

    Moving on...

I thought that the first Kill Bill seemed more in-tune to Quentin Tarantino's style. The second film was very good though it still seemed rush, as if it's only purpose was A) Background filler and B) Cramming in the rest of The Bride's revenge. It was a good movie, but still didn't quite equate to Tarantino's style. There were few things that truly fell in place with Tarantino's style...

It was mainly the eye-pluck move which we saw twice, and the crushing of the eye. Me and my brother were kind of let-down at the end of the second one when Bill simply collapsed, as knowing Quentin Tarantino and the superb exaggerated violence he likes to throw in, we were expecting something much along the lines of Bartleby (Ben Affleck) in the end of Kevin Smith's Dogma.

    Though, still, a good movie.

A-a-a-anyways, I'm not sure if I would invest into the DVDs... Maybe at a later date, but they aren't top on my collector's list right yet, though my brother plans on getting the second DVD (he got the first for his birthday), so if I ever want to watch them again, I'll just borrow them. ;P

I watched all movies by Quentin Tarantino, they are all good. Kill Bill1 is my favourite! Kill Bill2 is good as well, but i just like all the katana action in the first one.
