I remember this song. Noir was a popular Fansub way back in '02, back when I was first shipped off to basic training. I remember, in the few periods of down time we had, sitting back and humming the tune. My bud back home (one of three or four people on the entire planet who really cared enough to write to me... damn a*sholes...) mailed me the lyrics and I almost shat myself. Putting words to the music- sweet...

This song meant a lot to me because it was a reminder of the life I left behind. When you're in basic training you are isolated from the rest of the world. No phones, no TV's, no movies, nothing. You are trapped behind the wall, forced to watch the other people out side the gates, living thier normal people life, travelling around in thier cars, doing what THEY wanted to do.

So this song, Canta Per Me, was my way of leaving behind that sh*tty place and travelling back home. If anything it was a plesant distraction that helped pass the time.

Nostalgia is badass.
