Fan Art Lackey fanart ^^

So there I was sitting on my bed staring at my bookshelf when all of a sudden I had the urge to draw something. Since the first book I looked at just happened to be Magics Pawn by Mercedes Lackey, I decided to attempt draw the cover. This is my first time drawing a horse as well as a back ground, so comments and critiques would be more then welcome at this point. ^^

I with Asian Gurl, I love the horse!!
Whenever I try to draw a horse it looks like an oversized dog.

Hehe, thanks for your comments and critiques everyone. I have been meaning to get some drawing pencils and decent erasers, but I am kinda low on funds so I have just been using a mechanical pencil. I'll see if I can find the cover of the book and post it a little later so you guys can see it and compare them. ^^ Thanks again peoples.

Brilliant job with the horse! You may want to explore different shading - maybe by mixing really dark shadows with light areas for effect.
