What I mean by the ‘language in the human mind’ is can people that are fluent in several languages actually think in that language other then the first language they learned?

I spied this question. I think there could have been a study on it. I found it quite interesting.

I don’t think it is possible to think in another language besides your first. I am talking about full blown thinking. We can translate in our head but not actually think it I believe.

I personally can translate pretty fast well I used to but I thought both in English (my first) and Spanish (what I was translating/replying too).

Now people that are brought up on two different languages from birth can they think in both languages?

For that I would have to ask. It could be possible considering they have been using them for their first thoughts.

    What does everyone else think?
