Ok, if this is a repeat thread, bah.

Hello all, I have returned with a small proposition to anyone in Connecticut.

If you leave near the New london/Groton/ect. area, We have a Vampire: The masquerade LARP Running. And if you live in Rhode Island, There is a Garou LARP there. Garou=Werewolf, btw. It's alot of fun to get into, so please feel free to catch me here or over MSN and get more info.

Right, moving right along, Does anyone here LARP? If you don't know, that would be live action roleplaying.

If you do LARP, what do you play? Is it by White Wolf or other?

If you don't, Wanna know more?

 

Live Action Role-Playing... Like, you dress up like somone from Final Fantasy, and go around fake slashing each other? I need more info on this, LARPing you speak of. I don't, if that was the answer you were looking for.

 

I'd love to do some LARP sometime, but it takes a lot of Otaku to make it fun. And it usually doesn't look as nerdish when it's done on a convention. I saw some videos, and well...no comments. But it looks like fun!

My view of LARPing is totall chaos. Seriously, people could get hurt getting poked in the eye with those big plastic/cardboard swords. Is there a structured way to LARP, or is it just go off and do whatever?

Live action role playing, LARP, is mostly set up like D&D. But with the character you use, you role play everything out..In person. Less rolling of a D20 and more talking and interacting with other players. Gives you time to get up and walk around, act abit and roleplay whatever you're playing.

Fighting is a RPS system(rock-Paper-scissors). Basically you look at the amount of traits in one area, and bid one. If you win, you get to take your action. If you tie, you bid more traits and th person who can and does bid highest wins. If you lose, you can retest with an ability. (ex: a Might retest can be used as a last resort for physical challanges. An empathy is used for social challenges, ect.)

Yeah, it's always fun though..And you can online rp it fairly easily.

 

Got a Kenshin Himura outfir coming from ebay. I'm wearing it to school and gonna do some Larping there. One of my friends is gonna dress up as Cloud from FF7 and we're gonna fight each other.

 

It's kind of strange and almost embarassing what people seem to generally think of LARP, but eh... oh well. I don't actually LARP but I use the White Wolf LARP books for chatroom RPs I take part in.

 

I use WW rules for my online Rping to. Gotta love brujah..Maybe I can get an RP set up on boards based on WW.

 

I don't LARP. I like to RP on the boards to build up my characters. I don't know enough people to LARP right now.

 

Heh, it's a great way to meet new people who are into simular things as yourself. =)
