Japanese Learning Jap

Is it really hard to learn japanese? About how many years and how much dedication needed. Just wondering because there are so many jap only games out there that I want to play.

 

I'm not shere, but I read sonewhere it takes about 4 or so years. Min.

 

Learning a new language is an ongoing experience, no matter how long you study there is more to learn. All you need to learn Japanese is a will to learn and a dictionary. At the moment I'm learning English(yes its my first language, but there is always more to learn about it) Japanese, Spanish, and Russian.

 

im in the same sort boat as Nakoruru I want to learn Japanese because im hoping to go there on holiday with my mate when vie finished college and id rather not be the ignorant tourist type i was wondering is there like a learning package or anything i could buy to teach myself??
i was forced to learn french in school and i believe the only way to learn a language is if you want to learn it and boy do i !!!

 

I could of course advise on a small search on internet...a great source of information, that it is. Otherwise there *ought* to be some books although I'm not sure...
But I think you're right...if you want to learn a language, you must be dedicated and want to do it, or it simply won't work.
