And, just for the record, Hendrix is a show-off, and I would be hard pressed to name some of his songs that were any good without the use of pedals.

Voodoo Child (Slight Return) however, pwns.

 

Zepplin is great and so was Hendrix. Honestly you can't mess with possibly the greatest rock and roll guitarist ever. I liked Zepplin better though.

 

I can name offhand at least 5 guitarists with so much more talent than Hendrix that he would have just cried into his beer and given up if he'd heard them...

John Petrucci, of Dream Theater.
Chris Caffery, of Savatage. (Later albums, not the early stuff, which sucked)
Jani Liimatainen (or however it's spelled), of Sonata Arctica.
Yngwie Malmsteen, of his self-titled band.
Steve Vai, also of his own self-titled band.

That's just the first few that come to mind, given a bit of time I could probably name a few more.

Most of my problem with Hendrix isn't his guitar work, honestly, which is pretty good. It's his awful awful voice, which when I hear it makes me want to stab him in the throat til he shuts up.

And sorry for referring to Zep as 'him', I was already thinking of Hendrix by the time I got to typing that Led Zeppelin I've actually heard far more than I ever want to of, and a few songs ARE pretty decent, like Stairway and Battle of Evermore, but overall I really think they're very overhyped by their fans.

I Just said Guitarist. I never mentioned his voice. (honestly, I agree with you there it isn't great) I misspelled Zeppelin in my earlier posts. I am so going to get my a$$ kicked for that.

 

i was listening to their songs backwards..and they have subliminal messages something about worshipping satan and stuff......interesting, huh? it was in stairway to heaven..

 

Led Zepplin is great. My favourite song by them is In the Evening, but there are so many good ones. Perhaps suprisingly, I don't like the song Stairway to Heaven at all.

 

I love them too! They are what rock's all about. And I'm in to classic rock.

 

So, you just decided to play a random Led Zeppelin cd backwards? And could make out the lyrics. Suuure....

The Sgt. Peppers album has tons of stuff on it. You could find the secrets of the universe on that album....or not...
