People have been lining up at every store that sells an Xbox 360 in order to get their hands on one. People have been camping out in front of stores hours before the store opens for one. I know someone who worked at one of those stores and his manager went out to the line of 30+ people, counted out six of them, and told the rest that they were sold out.

What I find really amusing is that a pretty good portion of them are winding up on Ebay. And look how much they sell for.

All this for a system they can get at half the sale price if they only wait a year. -_-

I still can't believe people could be that obsessed with getting one.

Oh my god! If I knew that there'd be 360's selling at even 10 Grand, then I'd have camped out too!

Even so, I'll wait a year to get it. I'm mostly looking forward to PlayStation 3's awsomeness!

Until its game selection picks up and it's got a real set of games worth owning the system for I'll pinch my pennies. Right now it's nothing more than an overpriced DVD player. Not that impressive. :D

Didn't this happen with PS2 and the first X-BOX too? You see my point.

Who would buy a 360 for 10 grand? That's insane.

EDIT: That guy who won it got pwn3d. :D

I played the X-Box, and the 360 version of Tony Hawk's American Wasteland, and quite frankly, there's almost no difference. In fact, X-Box may even be better.

However, games like Perfect Dark Zero are what make the 360, but not in 1000+ dollars.

I don't fancy the Xbox 360 that much...Sure, it's a neat design and stuff and the only game that I am interested on is DoA 4...

But yeah, people do that just to earn more money. Like the time a guy sold his PSP empty box for 250 USD on ebay.

So if you don't fancy the 360, are you buying a PS3 next year? Oh, and to the guy who sold his PSP box for $250, you sure got away with one.

Of course. PS3, PS2, PSone and the PSP. Next to my Sony 32' Widescreen tv, and my HD-W1 20 GB MP3 player.

Does anyone see what brand I love? :p

I saw a XBOX360 running, I wasn't impressed by it actually, it kept slowing down during gaming, kinda like a stutter

the funny thing is the game was a basketball one, not a massive war kinda game

Excuse me, if you're judging the game via backwards compatible games, you're stupid, because it's openly admitted some BC issues exist, and you're supposed to play new games on it. Old games just don't magically get better, after all.

And besides, if backwards compatibility is what you want, you can stick with the old system for awhile until the selection of new games gets large enough to make thge new system worth it. :p

Maybe... :p I was reading the latest Game Informer and found out that the 360 has over 200 games in development. Now there's a selection for those who said there weren't enough launch titles. Do you guys think PS3 can keep up? Or maybe they have more and I don't know about it...

The reasons I'm buying my 360 are as follows:

    • The release date. I don't want to wait another year for my next gen console action.
    • The games that will be released. Can you say HALO 3?
    • The power. It's amazing how great the games look and run.
    • The controller. Wireless kicks ass, and the PS3 controller looks like a boomerang.

The release date = They say, the more you wait, the better it will be.

Halo = overrated piece of -insert random curse word here-

The power = Please, compare to the graphical processor on the PS3, XBOX360 is a childsgame.

The Controller = Never liked the Xbox controller, never will.

    200 games in development.

That's an impressive number until you take several things into account.

#1: It can take well over 2 years to release a game. For the NES it took only one and as game complexity went up so did the dev times. So possible launch titles? Not really.

#2: Over 3/4 of those games will be god awful. Look at the X-Box now, or the PS2, or even the GC. How many titles are simply horrible and not worth mentioning? How many make the system a pleasure to own? Usually about 2/3 to 3/4 of the games released for a system are lackluster and average at best.

#3:Many of those games will be ported over to other systems and will not be 360 alone titles. So when they DO get around to being released they'll be for more than one system. Not a solid reason to own a 360 when the same games are being released for the PS3 and the NRev.

Pinch your pennies unless you absolutely have to play Perfect Dark or Quake 4 on 360. Halo 3 is a little ways away yet. No use getting hyped up about a game that most of us know almost nothing about save a sketchy release date (PS3 release date).

If you ask me Microsoft made a mistake of launching this early..

here is why.. THe console is 2 expensive right now to sell.. If they want to Sell more the Sony then their Target market has to be Kids, teens, Adults.. not "HARDCORE GAMERS" right now there only people buying the xbox is the rich who can afford to throw money away.. Or the hardcore gamers who love xbox..

Another mistake of lauching this early is I think the cut out on how much testing of the system they did.. Already there is widespread reports of xbox systems crashing in mid game play.. So by there looks there is a lot of bugs that will be found..

Third.. Lack of games.. They have a new system.. Game companies are trying to gear the new games for the new tech.. So the xbox has lunched with a bunch of worthless games in my oppinion..

another mistake they made was 2 systems.. one that is fully ready to play and save.. the other.. if you want to save or play old games you have to go out and spend more money.. also to Play online games you have to upgrade your online package..

    Microsoft = MAJOR RIP OFF..

Now I am a big sony fan. i find that most of there stuff is of really good quality.. Yes the PS2 lacked in visuals compared to Game Cube and Xbox.. But Sony had the games I wanted to play.. Yeah sure a lot of the games sucked.. But thats the same for every system..

Now the PS3.. by the time its released it should have a ton of games out on the system. Games that People will want. Hopefully by holding back in the release all of the bugs will be worked out.. And hopefully with the Xbox 360 as major compatition they will come out with a reasonable sale price to make there sales BOOM and make up ground in the sales department..

but if the PS3 decides not to have an affordable price then it can stay at the store..

    That's exactly what I think.

If you haven't heard already, I previsouly stated that an article says the PS3 will sell for between $300 and $400. That's equal to the Xbox 360.

The thing turning me away from Sony is their reputation for products that break after a while. Most of the people I know have had to get at least 2 PS2's because they keep messing up. If they fix this problem with the PS3, I may get the PS3 instead of Nintendo's Revolution as I prefer more traditional controllers.

As for graphics, the PS3's are better than Xbox 360's according to specs but only by alittle bit. But to me, realism should start in gameplay. Not graphics. Not controllers. If my character is holding a sword and I run into a wall, I prefer that my sword doesn't disappear into the wall instead of graphics looking real.

Edit: My theard is thread of the day. Hurrah!

Well, I'm not sure how it's working for XBOX 360... but for PS3, taking into account the advancement of the graphics, etc., both Capcom and Square-Enix have said that making good-looking games (like Resident Evil 5 which is in development, and on the topic of the Final Fantasy VII Remake that everyone wanted after seeing the Tech Demo but Square is wary of because of time issues) could take at least five to seven years just to make each game.

Who in their right mind would buy a gold XBOX 360 face plate, for 30,000 dollars? No one. The other face plates are much, much, MUCH cheaper and better looking.
